This is the most realistic fight scene with blades. A Filipino combat instructor once told me that using knives should always be a last resort, because even if you're an experience knife fighter, if the other person also has a knife, you're going to get cut up no matter what. Perfectly demonstrated in this scene.

@@cade9491 it's ideal you have some sort of actual personal protection, aka knife, concealed carry, etc. Which is the case in the assassins situation. It was on the main characters path to go in with no weapon. The skill level shows the logic in which case, the main character would use the weapon against him. Though it was very hard earned, I'm sure the assassins best bet was with the knives regardless, he would have met a similar fate with the hands.

3:46 the body language is underrated Here. The assassin could block, counter attacks, and even push Rama And at this scene he with his eyes and a mocking smile say "you failed all the head and body attacks, why you don't try with the legs?" Rama instantly looked down to his legs and try a low kick or a sweep just to get checked. Lips can lie multiple times, but eyes rarely does. That's why professional fighters always look at the eyes of their opponent And also their feet to try to predict in which direction they'll go. And yet this is very difficult because feints And yes, maybe you're a fight sports fan asking yourself this, "what about feints and fake strikes that then shows the real attack, for example a cross headkick??? Faking a punch and then quickly throw a kick to the head?" That's the thing, fighters that know this can use this trick if their opponent is focusing too much in trying to read their direction Example: Leon Edwards vs Kamaru Usman 2

Damn, at the end his posture and body language don't say "victory". He looks frustrated, and sad. You can see him nod his head right after the the stab as if he's acknowledging something. To me, it looks like he's saying "I'm sorry you chose this, I'm sorry I had to do this.". It's a rare thing to see a fighter, ever rarer to find another master of the same discipline. He's acknowledging the loss of a rare specimen, and the legacy that fighter could've left, now it's all over the floor, and all over his hands. Would a martial artist be able to forgive themselves for not being able to "save" one of their own? It's not a victory, not at all.

No need to complicate it. Rama was hyperventilating at the end because of huge adrenaline boost due to slashes and pain. Assassin lost the hand to hand fight and tried using knives to attack an unarmed opponent, there's no honor or skill to acknowledge there.

This is a true demonstration of the essence of martial arts! There is no such thing as taking on a world of enemies with the guarantee of emerging unscathed, no matter how proficient you are at combat: a fight could end up going either way, and being your last. All that is consistent is the warrior spirit in a true martial artist to fight until the end, on matter what happens. If one chooses this path, understand that the risk of losing or dying still palpably exists, only that your odds of survival are statistically better than 0%, i.e. than a person who puts up no fight at all.

The kitchen fight was insane. It should have been the guy with the mustache who plays Shang Tsung in Mortal Kombat reboot movie.

man this shit was just nonstop adrenaline. I had forgotten how insane it was.

I love how the assassin starts all cocky and thrilled to fight a guy like Rama, and quickly turns into a blood-soaked hateful mess. When they both pause on the ground to look at each other, dude is pissed!
