Yeah it really sucks. I havent seen Bad Batch or the new season of Clone Wars, but I think Rebels was the best new star wars thing. It wasnt groundbreaking or a masterpiece, but it was enjoyable. I keep telling my family that Kenobi just feels _wrong_ there's something about it that isn't right but they just brush it off. Book of Boba Fett felt wrong too. Oh actually I take the Rebels thing back, the Mandalorian was pretty good. I think it's because both the Mandalorian and Rebels centered around characters we've never met before. It makes the universe feel bigger. Mandalorian dove into a culture we've never had many details about, a story we've never heard before, Rebels dove into a different part of the rebellion, something not focused around the original cast. A grounded story, still connected, but _different._ Maybe it's just me, but I think Disney needs to let the original cast die. I mean, they've already killed all of them (except Chewbacca and Lando) off anyways in the sequels. Let their stories end. Tell new ones.

I love how they are trying to push for Reva to be unique and important. She’s far from it. She should’ve been killed as a character before we even got to meet her character on screen due to how she is portrayed. Vader mentions how he is interested in her and how she has progressed and shit, even tho she’s done absolutely nothing. Why would he care? Bc Disney wants black diverse female to feel important. She’s done nothing but sabotage her team and the empire for nearly a DECADE, and yet she’s still breathing and walking around. Inquisitors have died in the past for literally showing compassion, love, and mistakes. Reva has made huge mistakes for a decade now, and they don’t have a problem with it. She’s let 2 jedi escape so far (even tho the one was later captured and dead), she’s displayed orders countless times, she doesn’t bring anything to the table, and she just keeps disrespecting everyone she works with and even kills the grand inquisitor without punishment. So it’s okay to kill any leader and take over like nothing happened?!?!? Why doesn’t snake man do it then? Bc he’s too intimidated by black female diverse character who is now hiding behind Vader even tho Vader doesn’t really care as long as they get obi wan.

@@clone99forlife lol it’s literally not hard at all to make diverse characters, but that’s what they focus on the most, and they try to make them outshine everyone too. There’s so many diverse charters in Star Wars that were actually good and that everyone could agree on that we’re amazing. Examples: Mace, ahsoka, asajj, Kotan, padme, Lando, boba/jango, bail, the voice actor for Darth Vader in the originals (idk if he played it for the revenge of the sith ending), and there’s more in the form of Jedis but idk their names. You can write a really good character and then make them whatever race you want, bc their background and story is already well written that it doesn’t matter what skin color or race they are anymore. Disney just can’t make any good diverse characters, and then blame the fans when we don’t like what they did. Finn could’ve been an amazing character if they didn’t just butcher his characters personality, showed a better understanding into his background, and didn’t treat him as just another side character.

I have a problem with people who want a promotion, but haven't done anything to earn it. It's cool that there is petty in-fighting amongst the Inquisitors as they vie for dominance, but it should be presented better. Reva wants to be top dog, but she's not doing much that would indicate to Vader that she deserves it. I think he'd be asking, "What, or who, are you willing to sacrifice?" Because, you know, he fell into a volcano to get what he wanted, so I don't think he'd be impressed by Reva doing the Batman pose on a rooftop.

@@ElveeKaye honestly, that would’ve been a much better response from Vader. If she really wanted to stay an inquisitor she’s would have to sacrifice something important to her, and get kenobi. The grand inquisitor is somehow not dead tho since he’s canon, so he’s probably going to come back and kill Reva before she can accomplish anything. Darth Vader might put the grand inquisitor on a mission to kill her and redeem himself from the humiliation and pain she caused him.

My main issues with ep.3 are with the execution of 3 scenes. 1. Obi is surrounded at gate by at least 6 storm troopers and he easily shoots his way out. But suddenly surrenders when 3 more troops show up afterwards, why give up now? 2. Vader puts out fire with the force push but is stopped when the same small fire is reignited, why not use force push on the flames again? Or just pull obi back thru the fire again? 3. Reeva later finds the secret Entrance of the tunnel leia is in. but is somehow able to get to the secret tunnel exit before leia? How in the hell does that make any sense. Usain bolt couldn't even move that fast. Nothing makes sense, and random shit just keeps happening.

Also one thing to notice is that Obi wen is hesitant to use his light saber in first 2 episodes, even though it is hanging on his belt all time, so I thought it will be iconic moment for him to finally use the light saber again, but the way it is shown in 3rd episode is so mind numbingly stupid, he uses the sword being shit scared and about to pee and just panick starts his light saber in super dark. I found that entire fight scene such disappointing. And funny thing is when i was kid I loved the prequels for the light saber fights, is it too much to ask to get a proper light saber duel.

I had a brainlet consoomer tell me that, well, OF COURSE there's effort in these shows, as they have many times the budget of much older sci-fi shows. Should have asked him what shows was he referring to that were made weekly on smaller budgets. Twilight Zone (original or 80s)? Lost in Space? Outer Limits (any)? Star Trek? When these shows, or any other shows, for that matter, were good, it was due to the *writing,* and often, *in spite of* the budgets. My biggest issues with episode 3 were, the fact Obi-Wan is being led by a 10 year old Leia Organa.... The guy is a veteran war hero and he's running around like a bumbling coward by a 10 year old, she makes him get onto an imperial truck and he saw the imperial insignia on the back of the damn truck and instead of being a sensible adult and saying to the child "No get off the truck it's an imperial standard" he winces and does as he's told..... By a 10 year old.... All while following her like "LeEEeeiiiaAAaaA PleAsE!!" It was pathetic to watch and made 0 sense... The second biggest issue was the fight itself... Camera angles were God awful... It looked like I had slapped on a KZbin video and two boys were having a lightsaber fight in the back garden... They build up Obi-Wan drawing his lightsaber for 3 episodes then when he finally does it... It's treated like nothing... And Reva is just annoying, she's the embodiment of a terrible character... I much prefer the second sister over her. Reva has Rey syndrome... She's forced and put into positions based on (unfortunately) her race and gender which is a terrible shame. Because Star Wars handled female characters so well in the past. Bastilla Shan is my favourite Star Wars character.... Take notes there Disney

Mandalorian was good and the last episode really restored hope (Luke's return). But KK used that opportunity to bait more loving fans. Really? To me that was one of the few things the episode did right. Vader is meant to be evil and hellbent on revenge against his former master, he's already been shown to have slaughtered the jedi at the jedi temple, including children, so I don't know why you would consider what he did here as out of character. It makes sense considering he's an evil sith lord who everyone fears, these types of instances are the reasons people fear him.

We have to stop worrying about what every one thinks when we are complaining about Star wars . If we are to afraid to speak out Then we will never see good Star wars again . The terribleness of this series has nothing to do with Race , and Gender . It is the weighting and directing . It doesnt have any thing to do with the actors .The Fact is that Kathleen has used so many people of color, and Females to play Key Roles that when you put down the series people think you are a racist or a women Hater . Saying that it is good, but could have been a lot better , and now we have to deal with this new Cannon Story line. Some one needs to fire Kathleen Kennedy before she screws up the time line . Kenobi was another attempt to put her Kathleen Kennedys feminine stamp on Star wars. She could not make the Grand inquisitor Female so she allowed the 3rd sister to kill or best the grand inquisitor. Instead of protecting Luke she made it about protecting a spoiled Rotten Princess Leia . through the whole 2nd episode I was wondering when some one was going to pull out there belt , and give her an ass whooping. I dont understand why no one has a problem with how week the fight was between Obi one and Vader . I mean That fight should have been Epic . Obi won is one of the greatest Jedi ever. You just dont loose your force abilities like that . So Far this series has killed about 20 Novels. In the Novel, Obi one, A 400 plus page novel by John Jackson Miller.... He actually kills a Krayte Dragon by himself while fending off the bad guys, and saving some ones daughter. All 10 Jude Watsons Novels the last of the Jedi are now Null , and Void. No offence but this series is Garbage , This series is made by a women who cares more about Feminism then star wars , and has never read a comic book or a Star Wars novel. I can understand people liking this series if they have never read a comic or a novel. With out actually Reading Star wars people can not know how bad Kathleen Kennedy is. Unfortunately no one reads any more. In the comics, and the Novels Vader was a killer, and if Obi won was as weak as he was in this series Vader would have killed him easily . Vader is Ruthless He killed women, children, and any one that showed any potential of being his rival. He killed every one with out your Classic bad guy explanation. He rarely captured any one. He tortured them on the spot, and if they didnt talk he killed them, and some times not even in a fight . If they were powerful enough ,He wasn't afraid to kill them from behind,, shove them off a Balcony with out them knowing its coming or destroy a whole planet or Asteroid to kill multiple Jedi at one time Rather then Fight them . If Vader could see Obi one was in his sight he would have grabbed him with the force , and unless Obi one had skill enough to beat him he would have killed him or tortured him too his death right there . None of those people could have stopped him. Kathleen Kennedy has no Idea of how powerful Vader really is . It is so sad that the people watching her series have no idea either This series should be called Princess Leia Not Obi won . Obi one was supposed to be watching over Luke not Leia. I love women . I favorite character is Ahsoka Tano, But I am so Afraid Kathleen Kennedy is going to screw up that series also In Jude Watsons 10 book series, Star Wars: The Last of the Jedi Ferus Olin was sent to look after Leia, not Obi one . If you are a star wars Fan my Advice to you people is dont read any more Novels because Kathleen Kennedy does not care about Legends. Reading the books are worthless, because they will never be cannon . Kathleen Kennedy wants to replace all the legend Characters with her own Feminine style of Directing . Dark horse Comics Nailed Star wars , but Kennedy is slowly erasing all that they have done . Kyler Ren , and Ray Sky walker were Kathleen Kennedys Creations . Thanks to Kennedys Trilogy there can no longer be a Mara Jade Kol Skywalker no more Cade Sky Walker no more Ania Solo. No more Heir to the Empire , Invasion, and Star Wars Legacy all erased. Bottom line is some one needs to fire Kathleen Kennedy and Give Dave, and John full control over Star Wars .

I don't know why, but I also found the idea of launching probes from a planet utterly ridiculous. Surely those planets would have to be in the Mustafar system for the probes to reach them? You can't just launch probes and have them traverse the galaxy looking for clues.

You point out a great point that takes away from the reality of the story. The directing does not take the reality of the world seriously so things feel like nothing is actually at stake. I get it’s difficult to balance how violent to make a show about war that is tailored for kids but when you ignore the reality of the world everything feels pointless because the writers can just find a loophole out of the circumstances.

It sucks so much. Reva can mind read. Why doesn’t she do that in episode 1 with Owen and interrogations? Reva somehow doesn’t make it to leia when she is parkouring. Episode 3 she teleports at the end of a single tunnel. Obi wans job is to train Luke, why has he lost his abilities? Why does he flash his lightsaber at the end of episode 1 at an airport after hiding for ten years ? How can leia outrun grown men for 20 min? How does a ten year old not get traumatised from being kidnapped? Why does darth Vader stare at the flames ? It’s not to hunt obi wan if he tells his stormtroopers to capture obi wan and watches a loader droid take him who walks 1 mile an hour.

Vader was always regarded as a textbook example of the idea of Lawful Evil. The Vader on display in this episode is pure Chaotic Evil, it doesn't sit right, it's not the character as portrayed in the previous movies and other media.

Two more odd things about the scene in the tram. First, after Kenobi says that "It's a long story" when one of the storm troopers presses him on what they are doing on the planet, the storm trooper then says "It's a long ride". Literally after riding for a minute on the tram the troopers reach their stop and get out. Second, when the troopers demand that Kenobi surrender at the check point, he lays on the ground with the blaster still in his hand pointing in their general direction. Not one of the troopers demand he throw away his weapon.

One other thing I picked up was the stupid lightsaber fight, first Obi-wan appears to be such a weak fighter, then later he waves his lightsaber around in front of him to see if Darth Vader is there ( 2 problems with this scene. 1, he waves a light source in front of him in the darkness and isn't phased by it and 2, he's a jedi, can't he sense where Darth Vader is?)

Disney Star Wars used to bother me as well. I used to hate how they disrespected and ruined our beloved franchise - I found it an absolute travesty how the corporate executives at Disney handled the franchise with only profit and preachy political correctness in mind. That being said, I've personally made peace with it. Meaning I simple just ignore it - despite how they wants to lure in old fanboys like me with the powerful drug of nostalgia. I just know from experience that I'm bound to be hurt and disappointed so why bother in the first place. As you said, it's not canon and it's never gonna be, regardless of them owning the IP. But I also honestly think SW suffers from severe franchise fatigue - and regardless of how unpopular and unrealistic it might sound I think the franchise needs a break from popular culture sorta speak. The fictional universe itself is overexposed in the worst way at the moment.
