I actually liked Rebels and Rogue One all right, but you’re right-they shouldn’t have just thrown everything away like that. From the Thrawn trilogy to the Vong Invasion and select pieces in between, there was plenty of nice things for Dave Filoni, the people behind Rogue One, and maybe even the anime people behind Visions, to work with. The scene in the dark where Obi cuts down the storm troopers was hilarious because if you look, when he hits the first trooper, the lightsaber literally BOUNCES back off the troopers chest like using a rubber bat 😂 but then cuts through on the other trooper. Two rebels managing to wipe out some Imperial force is a joke. If anything the original movie showed is that the Rebel Alliance was nothing but a rag tag team that could barely hold itself together. When the cruiser was captured at the beginning, nobody escaped but the droids and on the mission to intercept the Death Star there were only three people out of 30 in the strike team who survived (although I suppose some people might say the millions who died on the Death Star is a worthy cost for that). The idea that Stormtroopers are a bunch of goons with bad aim is only just a running joke because letting Leia escape the Death Star was Vader's intent. On the ice planet of Hoth, the Rebels got their asses seriously kicked because Stormtroopers truly are crack shot trained soldiers, although not as keen as their predecessors that the clones were.

I love that Tala (who by this show's standards actually isn't too bad of a character) lectures THE JEDI MASTER OBI-WAN on how to deal with feelings, guilt and the past, with such insightful commentary as 'you just need time' somehow ironically oblivious to the fact that (according to this show) Obi-Wan (the Jedi master) has spent 10 years dwelling on this whole thing and made zero progress and only regressed as a person.

They had.. literally everything to go right. The actors reprising roles, the technology to make it all believeable, an absolute army of fans who would happily help craft a story, all the lore and backstories and canon which they ludicrously decided to de-canonize, they know how the story began and ended so they had a framework... The entire premise of the show is a plot hole. The Organas are completely exposed as knowing Kenobi's whereabouts. Leia forming a relationship with Kenobi renders her monologue and behavior in A New Hope nonsensical. The writers probably should've watched the Star Wars movies.

But one might argue that Leia was so young when she went through this "adventure" with OWK that she might not remember him very well, considering how old and decrepit he had become by the time of ANH. That's pretty much their only defense for sh*tting on the OT. What a pile of fuming horsesh*t that last series. I'm so disappointed. I should have known, but the Mandalorian did have some redeeming qualities.

At the end of episode 3 I posted on a different channel that Vader would never let Obi-Wan escape, he could've stopped him and taken him to the fortress to torture him whenever he felt like it. People came after me saying that Vader allowed him to go because he wanted to follow him and give him false hope. This episode proves that Vader didn't let him go, in fact he outright got away, on a slow ass robot strolling through the desert. People said that Obi-Wan is so crippled with depression and that's why he was so weak in the first three episodes, and that I don't understand crippling depression. In this episode it seems that he got over crippling depression in 15 minutes, a new world record. What ever the fuck Obi-Wan took to get over crippling depression that fast he better share it because this show is fucking me up.

That's the new logic of Star Wars: established characters like Obi-Wan are suddenly shit at using the Force, until the script needs them to be very proficient in it. But immediately after that they're shit at it again because the plot needs them to be. The Inquisitors can detect Force users, until the script needs them to not be able to detect Obi-Wan so he can escape......... right. These "writers" don't have a clue about storytelling and establishing rules and as a consequence they constantly write themselves into corners which they only can escape from by breaking their own rules, over and over again. Reva looks to be a villain, but in the end expect her to be yet another "Genuine Star Wars Misunderstood Character" and actually the "good guy" in this disaster. And if that sounds familiar, it is, because their colleague writers did exactly the same in Wandavision.

Fans wanted Kenobi. Lucasfilm is incensed at the fans' preference for pre-Disney (in other words, good) stories and characters. The point of the show is to damage and degrade the Obi Wan character with two objectives. First, Lucasfilm wants to assert dominance over the fans in the most petty, mean spirited and toxic way possible, like a bully breaking a child's favourite toy and shoving it in her face. Second, Disney is salting the fields. After this show, no one will want any more Kenobi, and Lucasfilm can move on to peddling its own (inferior and unloved) characters.

Disney has developed an extremely annoying habit of overshadowing the alleged leads of their IP by showing them up with secondary characters that no one cares about. The first time I recall it happening was Iron Fist Season 2 and it's only gotten worse from there. The last Doctor Strange movie didn't really have a lot to do with Doctor Strange, the last season of the Mandolorean kept skipping out on the Mandolorean, and Boba Fett was so bad they had to spend an entire episode focusing on other characters because they didn't have enough for him to do. But yes, Obi Wan has been truly baffling in its character-induced stupidity. I've rolled my eyes on multiple occasions at the faulty logic employed by these 'writers' and no it has nothing to do with the casting. The actors are the LEAST of the issues with this show.

Actually deep sea diving even at hundreds of feet doesn’t actually “crush” a person per say, but actually the danger of deep sea diving is the compression of the nitrogen and oxygen in your body. If you were actually to dive at 1000 feet you wouldn’t actually feel the “crushing “ force of the water, but you will feel the affects of nitrogen narcosis and ‘the bends’ aka nitrogen poisoning as you ascend. People have freedived at hundreds of feet and saturation dived at thousands. They actually do not know how deep the human body can actually dive, at least not without months of decompression.

Just want to point out something that I haven’t seen anybody mention yet. Reva was literally in the same safe house as Leia for the SAME AMOUNT OF TIME. Reva would have the same amount of knowledge on that safe house and the Jedi smuggling scheme as Leia does. Not only that, but why did Reva kill the pilot instead of trying to get information out of him by taking him prisoner and interrogating him. He would definitely have more info than Leia and would be more useful, although Leia is still important for attracting Obi Wan.

I've watched many videos reviewing Kenobi. There's so many flaws and plot holes that every youtuber points out different things about the show. Put together, the list of criticism could easily fill hours of video. There's so many absurdities... It's baffling how Disney doesn't care or, worse even, they might think this show is ok.

ive thought about this a lot, it really just boils down to the higher ups not being real Star Wars... Any passionate fan would put more thought into the story or into hiring the people that control the story.. And furthermore it's chilling how the people in charge don't even realise that there needs to be a passionate fan Handling this franchise and making the decision, or maybe they do realise but they are just too weak to admit it and to step down and let someone else handle the creative decisions. Maybe they don't want to give in to the criticisms because they're still shell shocked from the criticism of the prequels when they came out. On the subject of the defences of the Fortress Inquiitorious, earlier in the episode we see ranks of Tie Fighters in those quick deployment cradle devices and other ships on the landing area ready to deploy. None of them are shown being targeted by the Rebel snow speeders and yet somehow no pursuit of the fleeing Rebels is possible beyond Reva throwing a power cell at one with the Force. So not only no shields and no defensive canon emplacements, but no combat air patrol and no rapid deployment response fighters, and somehow everyone at the fortress forgets they have space flight capable ships ready to go when pursuit is required. How in the name of the living Force is it that this 'fortress' is considered 'impregnable' when there are better defended piggy banks?

Anything you would do would be loud as fuck, I also find it hilarious that we’re led to believe that a 5ft9 60 kilogram woman not only could overpower a man 1v1 but also overpower two storm troopers while she’s unarmed by slapping one in the helmet & pulling the other by the helmet, like do they forget we’ve seen clones & also imperial recruits being trained in the other series? Before Disney took over the storm troopers were actually competent and intimidating, now they’ve been reduced to comic relief & just a montage to show off your character by having them kill a squad of highly trained soldiers unarmed.

There is so much to this mini-series that breaks cannon and continuity, it's difficult to keep track. One of my major gripes about the story as a while is that Obi-Wan was charged with watching over Luke and Bail Organa was charged with watching over Leia. Obi-Wan had one job; watch and protect Luke, not only from the Empire and the Emperor, but from his father. Bail, on the other hand, had the job of hiding Leia in plain sight. And based on the Ashoka novel (which is still cannon), it was around this time that Bail recruited Ashoka into the rebellion, where she became Folcrum. So if Leia was kidnapped, why would he contact Obi-Wan to abandon his duty of watching/protecting Luke in order to rescue Leia when he had the services of a former Jedi (Ashoka) at his disposal, who could have accomplished this task (having faced an Inquisitor herself in her own self-titled novel)? None of it makes any sense. 🤷🏽‍♂️

If she can't remember any of her adventures with Obi-Wan and the lessons learned along the way, it basically means it never happened from a character development standpoint. Just know in the future that you have it in you, cuz you did it before." Seems super dumb. Unless Disney comes up with some BS about Leia forgetting events, but still being marked by them through some Force gimmicky thing 😆.
