oh that was realy nice information again👍and I agree with you.... many modern stuff is not nice and just ugly. If you go back only 100 years nearly all material around,,, even cooking stuff or tools were nicely decorated to show off the pride of the craftsmen and to make things pleasing to the eye. Today it is reduced to ugly plastics.... You told about travel to san francisco... many of the ships who brought the men for the gold rush were actualy abandoned cos the men on bord left for gold as well. There were some wrecks found during construction works.... but I think you know this topic way better than me 😉 A nice tiopic would be the warship MARS. MAybe you can make a nice video about it.....

Dear Doctor. Your comments at the end of your lecture confirm what I previously believed, that you would be welcome here any time. For I, too, find little to commend the modern world. Fortunately, I live in a place where it is perpetually 1964, or maybe earlier. Sir John Franklin stands in our marketplace, and his parent's house still stands at the end of Franklin's Passage. Take the cars away, and it hasn't changed that much.

Speaking of Luddites, isn't Cutty Sark a bit outside of your era? Always instructive.

Everybody loves clippers at least a little. Though they are just little experiments in comparison to the mighty steel windjammers that came later, they are associated with major innovations that revolutionized seaborne commerce. I wonder, are we visiting windjammers next? There are plenty of those still around.
