this song fucks me up because despite it being obviously west coast, thus super far away from me , I've had to see too many scenes like this. the reason it hits so hard is the depths of description he went into. i remember the first shooting i witnessed in the same vivid detail and even if this is a story, it shows how much seeing a shooting sticks. before, during, and after

Little late but the car in work work is a caprice. same one he's rapping about here. He's describing the causes of a gang killing in work work and it's effect on everyone else here. How the kids living in the ghetto all feel the oppressive weight of violence at all times, as if there's a storm coming. Jesus. I read an article recently about kids in Chicago exposed to gang violence having PTSD symptoms to the same extent as vets from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Ok so i think i have connected get up work work summertime and inside out. So two kids come to a new city in the summer time describing that it would be a good place to deal drugs but not to cross other dealers. Then eventually they start treading on territory of other people which leads to one of the guys getting shot (get up) and the girl telling him never to mess with her territory, then she goes after the other guy and ends up curb stomping him. And inside out is just an after math describing the deaths and how the boys remissnesed about child hood before death (caparison, re-runs, old comic strips). Also i believe body and blood describes the female who deals. Also the drivers in Work Work are present at the end of get up.
