He could project portions of the symbiote outward in the form of webbing and the symbiote could alter its appearance to match nearly any form Brock could imagine, including completely camouflaging himself to the point of being nearly invisible to the naked eye. Due to the symbiote's previous bond with Spider-Man, Venom had access to all of the knowledge the symbiote had acquired during its bond with Spider-Man, including Spider-Man's secret identity and his loved ones. The previous bond also rendered Venom's actions undetectable by Spider-Man's danger-warning Spider-Sense ability. Despite all its strengths, the symbiote was especially vulnerable to fire and sonics.

Sony messed up what couldve been a great movie by continous intervention. They didn't let Raimi manifest his creative vision as he had done during the first two films. They should've just trusted him and let him go through with what he thought was a great story. A full movie with Venom and the black suited Spider-Man by Riami would have been awesome.

Imagine if they'd let this be two movies like Raimi suggested at one point. The first could've properly fleshed out Sandman, Harry's feud with Peter, and the symbiote suit, ending on a cliffhanger with Peter ridding himself of the latter only for Eddie to find it; the second would've had Venom as the main villain and given resolution to the other story arcs.

If it had been up to Raimi, Venom would never have existed in Tobey's universe, nor any other symbiote. Raimi was unaware of symbiotes until Sony told him to put Venom in the film. Raimi read mostly Spider-Man comics from the early 60s through the 70s, and the symbiotes appeared in the 80s. What they could have done is split the movie into two parts, like Raimi suggested. One with the black suit, Sandman and Harry as antagonists, and the second with Venom and perhaps closing the plot of Sandman or Harry (only one of the two, since the other should close his bow in the third part).

It is quite sad that this was the final movie of the original series. I was looking forward to Spider-Man 4. I was a kid when this came out, and at the time, I thought it was awesome. Sure, the film is a bit dated, but it is still a classic. Unpopular opinion: I liked the plot change where the Sandman was Uncle Ben's killer. It did not deviate too far from the original story. If Peter stopped the rubber, Flint Marko would not have accidentally killed Uncle Ben.

Design wise, this Venom was great! I kinda liked that they went with a smaller version that looked more like a darker Spider-Man and I think Grace did an alright job. My biggest complaint was how often we saw Topher’s/Brock’s face. I really wished they stuck with the Venom face when he was talking, as it’s so much more menacing!

Because Venom is a living thing which needs a host to survive. It didn't want to be thrown away and sensed what Peter was trying, so it tried to stay on him. Also, the longer someone is bonded with the symbiote, the harder it is to remove it. Spidey had it for a few months, I suppose, so it wasn't easy to get rid of it in the end
