symbiote basically amplifies his host aggresiveness. if the host have lesser evil in their heart, the aggresiveness still can be controlled to certain extent (as you can see peter still aware about the symbiote influence in him while bonding with the parasite). unless you give in willingly to the symbiote influence like eddie, then you can amplify the evil in you to many folds.

Interesting thing about this movie - it got bloated because the studio wanted venom in it for the merch. This basically ruined the story Raimi wanted to tell. But now, almost 20 years later, the Bully Maguire meme is fire, and all these sequences that everyone hated are now immortalized as some pre-sigma parker

Yeah, me too. Everyone in the theater was shocked when they saw that. The way Peter threw the bomb back to Harry and just casually walked away, knowing that he killed his best friend without remorse, was pretty dark. Even for a marvel movie.

The JJ Jameson in the show The Spectacular Spider-Man is just a complete idiot. He does not think before he acts. He too had to print a retraction. Because he didn't consider that it could have been an imposter in the photos he was given. He didn't even find it suspicious that the person who gave him the photos let JJJ have them for free. After he told Peter that he said that Spider-Man would be "Caught, jailed and run out of town". Peter just says "How can he be jailed and run out of town?". He almost did it again when Venom was pretending to be Spidey. Didn't consider it could be another imposter. Captain George Stacy points this out. Honestly JJ Jameson really needs to learn to keep his mouth shut every now and again. The reason why he hates Spider-Man in this show so much is because people love Spidey more than his precious astronaut son.
