M 360 College dropout was only the beginning of Kanye’s rap career. He’s been a top notch creator. Aside from a few other producers at that particular time, he’s almost single handily responsible for the Jay-Z sound you know and love now. He took soul-hip hop (The J Dillas and other “true to hip hop” producers/beat makers) and made it mainstream/commercial. He made it cool to be ordinary and be yourself in rap. He had the effect Notorious BIG had in the form of changing the hip hop swagger and style. Making everything more modern. If U notice, early Cole and early Drake were so much like Kanye with their voice, adlibs and performance, it was like Kanye ushered in a whole era of greats. It went from him being different to everyone biting his fashion sense and artistic expressions. Basically he was the man before he started going crazy

That's because Pharrel made most the poppin shit at that time too. And he's very good and switching his style. He tells a story of meeting a fan and the fan telling him how much he loved the Neptune's sound. Pharrell asked what sound is that and dude said, "u know.... that spacey dwooo drooo sound." Pharrel said thanx and then made a conscious effort to never use that sound again. He's constantly leaving his comfort zone. But his beats be so flawless that it's hard to tell.

I still consider Hell Hath No Fury to be an absolute classic. They complemented each other so well (Pusha/Malice + Neptunes).

Pharrell’s beats are so sick!!!! Gotta luv him!!!

Malice lyrics are just CRAZY GOOD. He has to be the most Underatted and overlooked lyricist of my generation. He absolutely killed that last verse like no one can smh. Its ashame the quality of music we put up with in 2017 compared to this. I honestly always thought Malice was the sickest with the flow of the 2. Pusha has the Charisma but Maice has all the quality.

I'm from the future... No Malice is on some different shit, and Pusha finally woke everyone up.

Was this directed at Cash money? All this time I had no idea
@Thegoat902107 ай бұрын
@@bklyniceis1 cash money but birdman directly, stunna never paid chad & Pharrell for the “What Happened To That Boy” beat they did for birdman, and this was the response . Birdman. Started the 20+ year beef
