We lived in Tarpon Springs FL for four years but Florida is not for us so we are nearing completion of our home being built in Tellico Village in Loudon Tennessee. We love it here. Its waaaaay too hot for us in FL and the bugs are nuts. But instead of complaining we moved. Lol. Love you guys

I live in Hawkins - there is lots of landscaping going on pretty much every day. It doesn't bother me at all. I sleep late (don't get up until after 8am) and in my house, I don't hear anything. And we also hang some of our laundry in our garage - it dries pretty quick. I'm very happy NOT to see others' laundry lines outside.

JERRY I love how you keep saying about not living for ever. So many Seniors didn't get the memo on that. I said to my husband he's 71 & I'm 63 & Were so lucky were still in love with each other. My Uncle passed from Covid in March 2021 he was 88. He wanted to move to the villages 25 years ago my Aunt didn't want to when he hit 70 he thought it was to late for him to move. My husband said the same thing. I said if John would have moved to the villages at 71 they would have had 17 great years there. I said it's our turn now let's go & enjoy the time we have left. So we will see you in 3-6 months. Thanks for your information. You are honest & truly helped us on making our decision.

We are looking at patio or courtyard villas in the Marion County off El Camino. We don't want to be off Morse Blvd. A beautiful villa just went on the Market. That will be pending tomorrow. Ask Linda what she thinks of a navy gray & yellow color scheme lol see you soon. Just so you know yesterday & today it was hotter in N.J. than the villages & we won't be paying 7000 a year in Property Taxes & 200 for cable & 340 for gas & electric.

Its a tough housing market for buyers. Here in Tampa, its usual to have a six month supply of inventory, ie, homes for sale, but at the moment, the realtors are saying there is only a three week supply. Great for buyers that are getting lots of cash offers above asking price, but incredibly stressful for potential buyers. As to the lady who asked about hearing mowers, etc., that is pretty standard when living in a suburban neighborhood, but as you said, the lawn services make quick work of it, so the noise doesn't last long. The only time it actually affects me is if I happen to be in the pool ... I jump out pretty sharpish ... don't need the lawn guys seeing a 70+ year old in her bathing suit!

I live in the ‘dry heat’ capital of the world - Scottsdale, Arizona! It is 110 degrees here today. 🥵. But you are right about humidity - it is so brutal that 95 degrees there is like 110 degrees here. What is also important to note - the lack of humidity helps with chronic pain. It is noticeably better without the humidity.🌵😎

As a New Yorker, my mom had one of those clothes lines that connected from our apartment building to the one across the courtyard. I've also seen people hang clothes on their terraces in some of the buildings.Despite that, I don't think I would want to spend the money on a home in FL only to have a view of someone's laundry and Linda's right about clothes drying quickly in the garage. OMG! Thank you very much for educating your viewers on the difference between Memorial Day and Veterans Day! As a war Veteran (Afghanistan), I'm grateful that you took the time to explain this. I lost a lot of brothers and sisters-in-arms in Afghanistan, and while I always appreciate being thanked for my service, Memorial Day is not the day designated for this. You could imagine how much it pains me to hear, "Happy Memorial Day!" because for me, there's nothing 'happy' about Memorial Day for me. Also, it's a bit sad to me how it's treated as an upbeat, Summer holiday and used to push discounts on appliances, cars, etc., but what can you do. I love your content, and every week I look forward to Mailbag Mondays! It cheers me up! Maybe one day we'll be Villages neighbors! 🤗 Again, thanks so much!

Make sure you take a hard look at the Marion county section in the northern part of TV. I agree with IRA the realtor, its the best kept secret on TV. We can't wait to get to TV, but it will have to wait, as we have two weeks of Old Time and Bluegrass music camp in mid-June in Eastern Tennessee (just amateur musicians but love it). For us, one of the most compelling things about The Villages, in addition to the beautiful area and good folks already there, is the level of amenities and activities - just think, over 3000 clubs and organizations focused on every imaginable hobby or interest, countless pools and outdoor facilities, golf courses galore! This is a sad day for me as with millions, I severed in Vietnam 1968-69. I was on 20 operations the worst one was operation Dewey Canyon. I was with 1st Battalion 9th witch in Vietnam got are Battalions Nick name The Walking Dead it started with Khe Sanh early 68, I got to Vietnam in October 68 Dewey Canyon started in February 69 it was a 68 day operation my Battalion started with 990 of use we lost 139 Marines for ultimate sacrifice, 880 wounded me included of 9th Marines, the operation was so bad that if you could walk and fire your weapon you stayed in the bush I took shrapnel to my right hand my ear drums were shattered the Corpsman ask me was I left or right handed I told him I was left handed he said sorry I will stitch you up then get back on to your squad. Through the operation we were sent replacements. We have 7 companies in are Battalion at times each company was losing men that would take 3 companies to make one. So this day is very special to me. I was a M-60 machine gunner my A- gunner was shot in the head right next to me it should have been me I have visited him on The Wall in DC. God bless there sacrifice.

The house across the street with the double palm tree is very charming. I love the sound of yard work and the smell of fresh mowed grass. Takes me back to my youth, a very happy time in my life. How is most of your electric power generated in The Villages? Do you have wind, water, nuclear power or a combination? Just curious. You have a family of military servicemen. Thank you all so much for your service. Having worked with law enforcement, many of the deputies were veterans or are reserve military, including one female helicopter pilot. Seems the two, military and law enforcement, go hand ✋ in hand 🤚. I communicated with some regularly while they were on active duty to assist them with tasks here at home. There is nothing I wouldn’t do to assist the deputies if it was within my power. Nothing. Enjoy your balmy Memorial Day. However, every day in The Villages is a holiday, isn’t it?

Love watching you. Starts the week off right. I’d like to buy a T shirt. Think you might consider selling?

It seems like Golf is the central focus of the Villages. I guess I will need to take some lessons and play. I was in the military and stationed at Hickam AFB Hawaii, I would get bored by the 9th hole (where is the beer cart?) when playing with a group of people. I guess I have attention deficit disorder. I thought Linda was so cute with her comments on golfing.

Not a golf player but I’ve heard you are always trying to improve your game. Have fun. It’s not a competition except with yourself.
