My family was kicked out of Scotland for somehow opposing the English. They wound up in Cork, where they were deported somehow to America just before the revolution (where they helped kick the English out of America. So we have a soft spot for Cork in our hearts too!

I’m so disappointment with the lack of shoutout to Waterford 😂😂 Waterford has - Comeragh Mountains - Waterford Greenway - Spraoi festival - copper coast drive - amazing beaches - Ardmore (check out the Cliff House Hotel - amazing!) - dunmore east is fab - All Together Now festival - tramore is very well known - Waterford pubs and restaurants are unreal, check out the apple market. Beautiful roofed outdoor pub area. It’s like being abroad 🥰

For some reason, I laughed out loud when I saw the clip of you climbing and Alex is waiting for you..the look on his face made me laugh because I can hear him say, "Come on, Princess, you are taking too long!" LOL but, I always heard about Cork and how it was very nice for those who don't want to live in Dublin (and, lot sure if this is true, Clare, so correct me if I'm wrong) but I heard that Cork was considered "more Irish" than Dunlin because Dublin (and Dubliners) were more "English" than Irish...and that Cork was an ideal place to live. Anyway, doesn't matter to me. My fiance and I think Ireland is beautiful and would visit all of them (well...maybe not all of them) but, yea. Sorry this was long but had to share! Crazy how much this has changed in the past 25 years. I remember going through military checkpoints when my dad flew us back to visit my Granny on the Falls Road as a kid. Cars and buildings were on fire and people just went on with their day as if it was normal. That Antrim would be far from A tier. So happy things have changed for the better.

- Derry was a total blast. 10/10 would visit again. Their Halloween festival was amazing. - I’ll advocate for Meath a bit. The people of Trim showed me a great time. And the castle and the surrounding ruins were beautiful.

Born and raised in Belfast and loved that you knew Belfast straddles both Antrim and Down (river Lagan demarcates this) bcause some people don't know that. Also, St. Patrick was burried in in Downpatrick so that puts Down on the map too.

Hi, Clare. I'm writing from Los Angeles, California, and I've never been to Ireland. Only just recently learned I have an Irish side to my family (Ancestry is a wonderful resource. Learned SO much! Genealogy is fun), but other than that I have no dog in the fight. Having said that... I'm going to offer up one more reason to place County Wicklow in the S-Tier. There is a place called "Dragonhold, Underhill" in County Wicklow which used to be the home of Anne McCaffrey, author of the classic Sci-Fi series 'The Dragonriders of Pern' among others (and a handful of Romance novels, as well). As I understand it, her home was a Earth-sheltered "Hobbit" style home, covered by the land it lives in. (I sincerely hope her son, Todd - also an author of Sci-Fi novels continuing in the same series - still lives in that beautiful home.) When I was a Young Lad, I heard her in an interview describe where she lives and the name of her house... so I wrote her a letter and addressed the envelope to "Anne McCaffrey, Dragonhold, Underhill, County Wicklow, Ireland" and Lo and Behold! she got my letter and sent me a lovely reply on some beautiful personal stationery. I was quite... chuffed is I believe the right word here. (Apparently the postal service in Ireland doesn't have much difficulty finding just about anyone, anywhere on the isle.) Does it seem at all ironic that in your initial assessment of Offaly, you ranked it... awfully?

Sligo is great for surfing, full of beautiful graffiti around the town, loads of picturesque buildings and churches, beautiful hikes, very pedestrian friendly, and loads of students around because of ATU. And it has a pretty great ETB centre for learning stuff for free.

Oof, that's harsh on Sligo, which has stuff like Countess Markievicz, the Devil's Chimney, the whole Sligo coastline (and thus some of the best surf in the world), the Táin, the Sligo Masters (who are a big deal in trad). I guess we could throw Yeats in, though he's a blow-in to be fair.

As a Meath person, I think you should have put it a little bit higher. Reasons: - Loughcrew Megalithic tombs (older than Newgrange and the pyramids in Egypt, also they have a cool glamping site with several different yurts, it is also the highest hill in Meath and on a crystal clear day you could easily spot nearly 13 counties) - Trim Castle is also a lovely spot to visit and tour - Hill of Tara - Tayto Park - Newgrange - Slane Castle - Laytown beach - Causey Farm Adventures - Knowth - Kells Round Tower - O Connells Pub in Skyrne (Guinness Christmas Ad)

Meath is incredible. Possibly my favorite county of any I've been to. So much history. Most of us with an Irish background are probably descended from Niall of the Nine Hostages. Tara is a magical place!

Longford has loads of things! The Goldsmith Trail. Center Parcs. The Royal Canal. Growing up I was told that Ballymahon has the widest main street in Europe and no one would lie to a child, right? It has Edgesworthstown - and anyone who has shaved knows the value of a good edge, right? Come one, Longford deserves at least D tier.
