OKAY! It's good to have a friend that offers good advice! Everyone should have a friend or two to ask advice from! BUT... the world is not just one or two people! The "world" needs room for a few Ciara O Doherty-ies, and Clisares,, and whomever else-es! Taking a bit of advice from your friend is good, but leavening that advice with your own personal experience is better!

Clare, regarding the "I can't do early mornings"...keep in mind "I'm not a morning person" is a real and legitimate thing, as much as "I'm a midday person". My industry necessitates my sleep and work schedules be *extremely* flexible, but I *thrive* when we do night or overnigh shifts and early morning shifts are the bane of my existence. I'm grateful to you, and Ciara for being a sport, for doing this video as it shows we can all learn good/new/helpful things from each other, but that we also need to remember to listen to our own bodies because those are the ones we have to live in. ❤

@9:32 I'm knew to this channel so I'm months late for this, but all overcoats and suit jackets (for men and women) that are machine made come with a simple stitch closing the pockets, sometimes the back pocket on trousers also. it's to hold the pocket closed as the rest of the stitching is done, else it might be pulled out of shape. enjoying your content, take care. @16:17 you could look into papier d'armenie it's incense paper that you burn, I suppose you could write things on it before burning it?
@MichaelMoore973 жыл бұрын
The sewing the pockets thing is common for men's and women's coats (every sport jacket/blazer and wool type coat I've ever purchased has had the pockets sewn). It helps them to lay flat and look better when they're on the rack for sale. You are meant to take a seam ripper to that thread to open them up for use.

Clare I thought you might get some diversion from some thoughts from a viewer watching this video (even a year later!) about what I think it says about you and also helped us to understand you, a little better. To begin with it showed me how open you are to life and all its potential . To trying (hmmm) new things, experiences, ways to live, ways to be. And having tried, reflecting on its worth, what you could learn from it, or benefit from it, if anything. I liked how you noted that the beauty treatments made you feel so attractive and then helped you understand that actually, a lot of the time you didn’t WANT to be noticed and that helped you understand that you underdressed exactly because much of the time you wanted to slip under the radar unnoticed. The week living like Ciara gave you the opportunity to step into the shoes of someone who in many ways chooses significantly different ways to living their lives, a much more structured approach, in a way a much more regimented regime. They accept that because it helps them achieve the different goals they have. But you quickly saw that as in most things there’s a trade off. And I could see that that was easily apparent to you once you lived it. You’ve learned a lot but you ALREADY are self aware enough to say, yeah I admire that, but that’s not me. Maybe it’s because you’ve already been engaging in this exploration of different experiences through your videos that’s helped in the self awareness you’ve already achieved. Self knowledge might seem a not particularly rare accomplishment, but from my experience it’s one of the biggest benefits of growing older. Yes that’s right I ain’t no spring chicken. And one thing I learned from getting older is that the best years of your life are not always the ones you think they’re going to be. When I was in my teens I longed to be in my 20s, thinking reaching the zenith of my youth and good looks must make them the best years. No not at all, because I wasn’t very far in that voyage of self discovery that is life. Every turn of the decade, was not welcomed because all I could see was I was just that much further along the road towards becoming OLD. I think many people believe because they are themselves that they already know and understand themselves. It’s not necessarily true. Just as with learning an unpleasant truth about others we care about, it can be easier to ignore or rationalise the things about ourselves that it’s too uncomfortable or painful to see and acknowledge. Sadly some people never really learn who they are, because they lie to themselves. They delude themselves because it makes it easier to accept themselves, just the way they might overlook or refuse to accept an ugly truth of a beloved child. A much loved aunt of mine told me in my late teens that the favourite decade of her life had been her 40s, because she still had the health and stamina from her youth and the self knowledge and self acceptance of herself in her 40s that helped her to enjoy to the full all those attributes of her youth they gave her. I politely acknowledged what she told me with a smile, while thinking this woman who seemed in her fifties to my teenage eyes an ancient age. But surprise, I have to admit that from the perspective of my mid 60s, my 40s also turned out to be my best and favourite decade. I’ve learned to savour every day of life and to live it in the present. I no longer have much trouble enjoying the present. And now in your 30s perhaps you’re seeing the benefits of what you’ve learned about life and your own self worth, while you still have the youth, beauty and good health to make the most of it. From my perspective you’re young and have many years ahead to enjoy the best times of your life. Savour every minute of the good times, because as you’re probably already discovering, it passes by amazingly fast. Best wishes😊
