That's exactly the method I would have fished as well Clive. Think the bream have moved downstream due to extra water. Bloody marvellous draw a good peg but hey keep going and I'm sure your luck will change soon mate. Brilliant video again Clive. 👍

you still got a result from a peg that didnt have the fish there..... i think you would have thrashed around on the waggler and pole spraying bait all over the river for 5lb of bits.. so the feeder looked a fair choice of attack.. .. .. .. and makes a change i never had the patience for feeder when i was younger..but its usually the winning method... nice one.. .. ..

I had the same phantom bites problem a few pegs upstream, was convinced they were eels. Kept changing hooklength lengths but still couldn't connect with 'em. The bream have spread out a bit now I think after they got hammered the first couple of weeks. Mind you they were on 19 on Thursday!

Hey Clive, you had the best approach on the day and still did well sticking at it rather than scratching about, the last cast bream proved that. I dont think they were there in numbers at the start and the extra water had moved them a peg or so. Keep up the good work with these videos I think they are great and getting better, maybe get miked up. From memory I believe that you had a good run of results at the begining of last season and sure that cycle of sucesswill return! Cheers, Gareth (New Zealand)

Bad luck Clive, I drew John Brights Ford last Sunday on the Severn, 2 days after Ian Hughes had it on the Prostate float only match, he won it with 86lbs of Barbel. I knew it wasn't going to fish as well for me and had 17lbs off it for 4th in the match. it's demoralising when you draw such a good peg and don't catch off it. That's the game though, onward and upward.

Unlucky Clive, 5hat just about sums up my experience on a good peg, the fish have fins and decide to go swimabouts 🙄 it was nice of James to stop and have a chat you should have tapped him up for a couple of reels as you seemed to be having some sort of problem with your reel, I know smelly bait will draw eels in but I really don’t have any confidence at all with those vacuum packed casters, I had some once I’d forgotten about and they were hidden in my fridge for well over a month, they looked great but when I opened them they almost immediately went a dirty brown colour and smelt awful, not old naturally but like something dead, Tight lines for your next foray 🤞🤞🤞🎣🎣🎣🎣

had to pack up match fishing 15yrs ago, shows how out of touch I am, years ago all the island pegs were chub pegs and that's is probably what I would have fished for. lol.

As an ex World Champion Clive, you of all people should know not to go spooking fishing in a other anglers peg before he gets there just so you can have a look. Minimum disturbance before fishing. Good vids tho.
