For as ridiculous as this game is, I’m continually impressed by the motion capture animations. They’re really over the top, but they’re so luxuriously detailed that it puts a lot of contemporary games to shame.

entire plot is based around creepy old dudes trying to steal a 14-15yr old girls heart. and her own grandfather wanting to "become one with her" freakin' namcops. p.s alyssa had the worst 15th birthday ever, and the only person she spent it with was a guy who throws pretend fits and looks like he missed a harry potter audition. honestly 11/10 a gem of a viewing experience. Clock tower has to be one of the weirdest horror game franchises. The first one for the Super Famicom was surprisingly done well despite the ridiculous premise of a short dude chasing you around with giant scissors. But in retrospect, the atmosphere, sounds, and gameplay in a point-and-click game was done pretty well-especially considering the limitations of the Super Famicom. Then the sequels just decided to drop the scissors (save for the PS1 remake) and go full LSD and cocaine.

Depression is going strong, so I'm back to watching many of your videos again to calm myself. Thank you so much. You don't know how much your videos help. Great playthrough, by the way. Played this ages ago (along with clock tower 2 on PSX; never played the first one) and disliked everything about it: the horrifying murders didn't match the kooky tone of the badly written story (the victims' stories did make me a bit emotional, I'd admit, which made the whole thing even more egregious); I found the game very tone-deaf, but I'm still glad that you enjoyed your time with it, which is what matters at the end of the day. Your playthrough made it far more bearable. If you ever find the time and energy to play anything like the Clock Tower, I highly recommend Haunting Ground. It's also capcom's game. A bit old, but that's the game that I consider to be the infinitely better Clock Tower compared to this one. Again, thank you for these lively videos. Great stuff!

Wonderful playthrough! I first checked out Clock Tower 3 about two years ago, but I’ve always liked the series for a long while (SNES will always be the best). Just as ridiculous as I remember, but it has a lot of heart - from that (in)famous mocap, Alyssa‘s genuine kindness towards the victims, and the love she has for her mom. Kinda like a fucked up A Christmas Carol set in Raccoon City, with elements of Coraline thrown in for good measure. It is a weird ass departure from the previous games, but a welcome one in the end. Best game from Flagship after Kirby Squeak Squad. I just wonder if Alyssa and Dennis survived that huge fall from the clock tower in the ending. The wiki theorizes that they could have died, but I wonder if the field of flowers symbolize something. Anyone got a flower dictionary?
