That's true, but to my knowledge you can't use a hiding spot more than once (at least later in the game). I managed to get out of this first area of the game pretty quickly without having to experiment with all the hiding spots and interactive stuff. Just got out ASAP. Must've got lucky, I guess.

A combination of him being a dumb kid and also treating it all like a funny game, there's even moments where he straight up decides to scare you instead of easily killing you to prolong the fear factor

probably because he's trying to scare her. same goes for his slow walk. the person behind the mask never takes things into consideration,which is why he always gets hit or has things thrown at him.maybe if he moved a little faster,(like when he "walks" down the hallway,for example) he might have had a better chance of dodging those things.

@@terrariapro1258 he walks slow in this game because he has a limp from falling off the clock tower in the first game (the PS1 version is the sequel to the SNES game, its titled Clock Tower 2 in Japan as the SNES game was never released outside of Japan.) In the SNES game he walks just as slow which is probably for intimidation like you said.

this Scissorman definitely looks like Cropsy from The Burning unlike his SNES breathren, who had to stick with the Phenomena influence. his shears, meanwhile, are deadass the medical shears from The Exorcist III.

Both are pretty cheesy (which is good, that is what makes clock tower "clock tower"), but I think the PS1 is a lot more scary and requires more quick thinking. The SNES version has a lot more charm, and its much more memorable From my playthroughs, I think the SNES version is best: but that still doesn't mean this one is just as great!

This was the shit out of my nightmares growing up lol...I wasn't even that young either, I think I was 12 when this came out. Such an overlooked game...it makes me really sad more people don't know about this. It was way fucking scary regardless of graphics, cause that shit didn't matter back then. Scissorman was god damn terrifying! Like the part where he is waiting outside the bathroom for you, that made you need to pause the game lol. I remember legit jumping when he came out of the painting in the mansion later on. Like I HAD to pause the game for a second, and I remember saying "Holy Fuck!!" at my buddies house and getting trouble lol.h ...I do not at all remember in the first part being able to throw the chair to no avail lol. That's the coat room with the hung up security guard...i have no idea how I didn't figure this out. Man I must have been really stupid when i was 12.

These dated graphics already border the “Uncanny Valley”, so they’re _perfect_ for this kind of horror setting. And it can feel enlightening to point that out… even if we don’t know the degree of truth behind it.
