Hi man, from what I have seen it depends on the make really, I had an audi with a cat problem but the check engine light was not on, however, most vehicle makes will surely trigger the light.

This is exactly whats going on with my car and I've taken it into Subaru 4 times the past months and the check engine light was the final five away. First was 1 really weird engine start where the car felt like it was missing fires on the boxster engine, Then I noticed the performance was 20-30% less, then after revving the engine while decreasing RPMS would almost hit 300-400 RPM and almost stall. 2023 WRX with only 1985 miles on it. I hope this is the final time in the dealer have a 3 week road trip planned on April 7th

Well, pray you can take advantage of that lemon law before you’re stuck with it Edit: there’s always a couple bad lemons on the tree, don’t forget that, goes with any manufacturer, like before, get it taken care of via lemon law, and get yourself another WRX 👍🏼

I have a 2017 Hyundai Tucson and I have Hyundai do the timing chain twice and replace the knock sensor. And my car doesn’t idle weird but every time I want to accelerate it feels like it’s stuck in a gear and it squeals at 4,000 rpm. Before the repairs it has gone in limp mode twice. The car has 98,000 miles on it. I don’t see why Hyundai thought it was acceptable to give me the car back after having the car for a month and some change. Does anyone know what it could be? The dealership told me my catalytic converter was bad but I scanned the car with the obd scanner and there is no codes and I’ve driven it for at least 100 miles.
