As a plumbing contractor I would never flood out a finished basement like that just for the fun of it. Sewer water gets under the ceramic tile via grooved trowels and in about 4 months the smell of mold and mildew will be brutal. I have been called back for a sewer smell and when all plumbing was in good order I got permission to pop a tile off and it was black with mold. The insurance company came back and replaced all ceramic tiles.

@@Tara_898 obviously, but what would you have him do if it was your house and you forgot to move it. If you came down and saw that it was covered in wet crap you would say don’t worry about it it’s my fault? If you came down and saw it was covered in wet crap you wouldn’t think that he could’ve just kicked it out of the way? Somehow I think that if it was your house, you wouldn’t wonder why he couldn’t move it with his foot a few feet. If it was your house, and you saw it covered with wet crap, you would be pissed, so I guess that makes you a hypocrite

@ Kimberly McCreary. Yeah it often annoys me when I have to do work and people don’t move their stuff that is blatantly in my way. So what do I do? I move it. I instantly saw the dehumidifier sitting right there knowing that it was going to be a geyser of poo water spraying all over it. I was kind of shocked that this drain clearing guy didn’t move it. So if the homeowner doesn’t do it you should do it. This is my first video that I’ve watchedOf his so I’m taken back by the lack of respect for the house. But I don’t know if there was no other way to enter the main drain maybe by an outside clean out? I don’t know.

So I’m guessing that there was no outside clean out? And left you no choice but to knock off the clean out cap inside the house. Otherwise why would you flood the basement with poo water? Also it seems like you should have moved the dehumidifier. I know it’s annoying when homeowners don’t move their stuff but they don’t know what’s about to happen. So when I’m faced Customers crap in my way, I move it. And if I had to do that in a house I would call for large shop vac’s and set up a water perimeter to contain it and then suck it all out with the vacs. But hey that’s just me. But if I made that mess all over the floor I would feel obligated to clean it up no question.

There is another way. It just takes a lot more manpower and a lot more money. Buy having a wet vac on sight and an extra guy is handy. Having a transfer pump. Letting the sewage leak out slowly and pumping it out with a transfer pump as it comes. These guys are all honestly just lazy and don't really give a shit about the home owners. I don't completely blame them but I know how I would approach it would be with care.

it wasn't as much a problem years ago, when high flow volume things were used, now everything is low flow blah blah blah. they probably see those magical dishwasher and soap pack ads that say just jam it in the dishwasher dirty and don't worry about it. vs cleaning it into garbage can and hand washing in sink with many gallons of hot water for washing and rinse water running, which would heat the pipe and be enough to flush it through

What even happens after this kind of incident? Does he have to pump the water out and then clean up or is there another crew(s) that do that?
@leexgx
@leexgx 3 жыл бұрын
Not his problem only gets paid $49.95 to clear one side of the pipe, customer needs to get there own cleaning crew and ideally get someone to clean the pipe properly and cam put down there to check it (probably just fatburgs/ soapburgs)
