Happy New Year Donald. You often talk about soap scum in the pipes / trap. Does it accumulate because the soap powder is different in the U.S. or is it the water hardness or perhaps the roughness of the cast iron pipes because we don’t see so many of these type of blockages in the U.K.

A combination of all 3 I think. After having a bunch of problems with the shower myself I switched to a liquid soap and haven't had an issue since.

I'd love to know which soap products were being used in that household. I think that dishwashers can send down undissolved powder, and surely laundry does if the occupants use powder instead of liquid. But I wonder which products are the major ones to cause such build up. As always, a delightful video. Thanks for presenting.
