Clopay, Midland, Wayne Dalton What’s The Best

You can buy high end doors or low end doors from anyone of these and it will work great. Its all about application. Clopay Coachman 16 x 8 on my house 2" R Value 9.0 - It has the nice heavy duty bearing polyurethane rollers, very quite motor. If you have a room or bedroom above your garage, good insulation and quite doors are a must. If I lived up in North with 6 months of winter and freezing temps.... I would have gone 18.4 R-Value. If I recall. I think the door installed (track, motor, door was $4,200.00) I have a 30'-60' outbuilding that has Wayne Dalton Fiberglass 1 3/8 ". 16x10 foot and 9x10 foot doors and it was less for these 2 doors than the one 16' Coachman. I mean for the out building its not heated or insulated and I just wanted decent nothing special doors. Wayne Dalton with track, steel rollers and Genuine motor works great. I think it was only $2,500.00 installed All the doors are working just fine 10+ years with zero maintenance on them.

I've sold them all and I prefer CHI. Clopay and Wayne Dalton are hard to deal with from the dealer standpoint

Absolutely, Wayne Dalton 8500 RP. 2" great insulated door.

Came across your channel on a service call the other day like your channel like your style I I’m here in northwest iowa been in the door business for 11 years I have installed every door the USA has to offer and some openers from Germany don’t ask ha but yeah North Central is the door brand I carry and I like midlands as well but I personally would never sell or install Wayne dalton, haas, amarr they are just the worst quality crap doors I have ever came in contact with Wayne dalton for sure there best line door is not worth the money same goes for openers genie, hormann and any other knock off brand from Menards Liftmaster/ chamberlain are the only openers to sell thanks for the videos love seeing other installers trying to better the industry keep the videos coming!

Amarr is the best brand in my opinion. They offer everything for everyone's budget. Their Lincoln 3000 is their best model that comes in a 2in thickness. 9.05R-Value. Steel front and steel back with Heavy-gauge, coated in a 5-layer paint system for long-lasting durability. Quality control and packaging is also superb. Great discussion and information!

I’ve been having real good luck with Door link we’ve been selling those EMR doors, but I prefer the door link over the amarr They kind of cheap out on the rollers, but everything else is real good.

I really like raynor doors. Its our main dealer for us. Their tracks and everything are always heavier gauge then most others. Especially if going 3" track. There 1 drawback is if you dont deal with them much is all of their parts are very specific for them. They use different drums then everyone else, 3" rollers have spacers and you have to space track wider because they use a 2" track bottom shoe where pin rides next to track instead of behind it so there hinges start at #1 still which is good though. Theres other things and yea you can make other things work but gives you a little extra hassle sometimes. There operators are jus ok tho. They work but they are noisy. Only good thing is they take 2 monitored safeties with no expansion board and no module needed for a safety edge. I do like liftmasters and powermasters. Genie arent bad if its jackshaft but i hate their trolleys. Plastic sprocket idler at the nose. Havent really installed them but everytime ive seen micanan operators you can tell they are built beefier then most others and they are quiet and smooth.

Have you heard of Garaga Doors? They're made in Canada. I'm looking at buying a new 16X7 insulated garage door (R12ish) and have estimates that include Garaga, North Central, Clopay, and Haas. All Liftmater 8165W and one LM 8155 belt drive. All estimates are between $2500-$2800 before tax. Trying to decide what would be best.

There's an abundance of Midland doors where I live. Definitely would do Midland if I were you, the doors are very good quality. I've had Midlands in my garage for 7 years and no issues so far quality wise.

where do you order springs from? what is your most common size you use?

We buy most springs from service spring we are heavy in commercial so springs range all over the place.

What do you think about Lift master jackshaft garage door opener 98022? I am trying to the quietness. Which hardware and door is best for the quietness?

Most of your nose come from rollers and not having the door oiled in the moving parts. Get nylon rollers but make sure they have bearings and not just plastic molded on metal stem. I don’t think you will go wrong with a Jackshaft. I still like standard rail openers. Belt drives are very quiet. Good luck on your decision. Thanks for the question.

I’ve never dealt with doorlink. I would make sure you got a couple of dealers close by that selling doorlink just incase one goes belly up you have someone to help with service. I just would hate for you to not have replacement parts or door sections in the future.

The only thing that kinda turned me off about Raynor is the weird spring sizes at least the I.D. but besides that can't say nothing bad.

@@affordabledoorgatellc7391 I liked them, they were good heavy steel doors. I carried six foot sections of springs and would cut to size on the jobs. Installed a lot of Anderson wooden doors as well. Don’t think the wood is as popular today. Really don’t care for Dalton or Clopay. Use to leave a business tags 🏷 on the doors or operators lift arms with the date and name on repairs to keep track of customers and work done and by who. Really enjoyed the job, did residential, industrial and commercial doors. Move back home to W.Va… Retired from working in the chemical business in tankers to coal mines. I still do some repairs for family, friends, neighbors and local still. Still have all my door tool.

I am getting the Amarr heritage 3000 with Liftmaster garage door opener from a reputed Costco backed dealer for $3700 all inclusive. It comes with a lifetime warranty. Alternatively a fly by night installer is offering to install a Wayne Dalton WD8300 with Genie opener for $2335. 1 year warranty on labor and 3 year on parts. Which offer is better? I have a 16 by 7 garage door and am in the Seattle area. Garage doors are Expensive here just given the real estate market. Please advise. Thanks.

Same area from Costco quoted me $4700 before tax or rebates. Saving over $1000 going with Home Depot install with clopay top model.
