Glad you're okay. Next time configure the GPS at a rest stop. We all make mistakes.

striker1211 it Didn’t help that I was also tired so it’s like where you zone out and know you’re on the road but somehow don’t realize there’s a semi or whatever else in front of you until it’s right there. Shortly after I did stop at the following rest stop and take a nap for a bit. On the upside I’m usually a very conscious driver and well aware of my surroundings. I’ve never had a crash in all my miles of driving but I’ve had a few close calls before though, some my fault and some not. I got nervous anytime a semi went by me at 60+ after that

I know the feeling. It's almost like a daze. When I was younger I could go a lot further without being affected but now I have to stop at least every 4 hours or so and run around. I drive 8 hours each way to see family every few months and at the end no matter how much I like driving I want to be out of the car :) Also, luckily, I have a great copilot (girlfriend) who makes sure I don't get distracted by a stale pandora station.

striker1211 Yep. I’m only 20 but have driven easily 200,000+ miles on the last 3-4 years. I used to be able to drive a lot but I’ve noticed I can’t drive near as far as I used to at one time. My back doesn’t agree with it and I noticed I lose my focus easier too so I like zone out. As soon as I notice I’m no longer safe to drive I try to find a safe spot to pull off and snooze for a bit. I try my best to not put anyone else in danger. That’s why I drive with a dash cam. In the event of accident regardless of who’s fault, it will make life easy for everyone to get it sorted out rather than the he did she did thing or it’s all their fault and not mine at all. Either way it’s nice having a dash cam in any event just in case. Well worth the money spent on one. And like I said in this case I learned the roads were a lot worse than they seemed and that I slowed down afterwards. That semi was only going about 30, and usually they have their hazards on when going that slow. Regardless though I can admit that this was my own fault that I spun sideways, plain and simple you know? The main point in this video is to educate people that roads can be worse than they appear once you try to stop or slow down...I was terrified of hitting the semi and making him go sideways because that’s up to 80,000lbs in front of me there which isn’t easy to control in bad weather

You got back your car control very dramatic way. Glad it did not ended badly and you are ok. Anyway lawnboy81SMS, would you mind if i feature this video into a compilation from my main channel MegaDrivingSchool? Credit and link to you! Thank you!

Outreaching for MegaDrivingSchool Go for it. As long as you give the credit like you said and if you’d mind sending me a link/copy of the final video when finished. Thanks! And I know it was dramatic but it was either steer back into it or spin in circles and face the wrong way. It’s a 2000 Chevy Tahoe so if you don’t try to counter-steer they’ll whip around before you even know your backwards and forwards again.

Thank you very much! I will do that. Also you can sub my main channel too :D

Russian road videos are there NOT to teach you how to drive.

I'll admit that's pretty funny xD However, I'm well aware in how to drive. Obviously this was purely operator error, there's no denying that. On the upside though, I've had a lot of practice "drifting" all my vehicles in wide open parking lots with no other people/cars around so I can safely learn how each of my vehicles will handle in the snow to get familiar with them. In this case, I was not expecting the road to be that slippery upon braking due to having perfectly good steer traction (until I hit the brakes and the ABS failed and locked up the rear wheels which is what sent me into the slide to begin with). I'm glad I've learned how to counter steer. It saved me from many other potential outcomes (facing backwards, hitting the cable barrier, possibly rolling over, etc. etc). After this, I immediately slowed down to ensure I would have proper stopping distance once I realized just how hard it was to stop. Having good forward traction does not mean good stopping traction!!! Thankfully, I've also never been involved in a wreck or gone into a ditch. This was the first time I had ever actually spun out anywhere unintentionally.

Slow the fuck down in the snow next time or turn on better music to keep you awake

Showtime 0007 If you read the description you’d know I did slow down after this scare. I had plenty of traction for driving but the highway was slippery when trying to brake and I underestimated my braking power because that’s what sent me sideways. Luckily I know how to countersteer so I didn’t just spin around and actually cause an accident.
