You have no idea how fucking addicted I was to this game. I played it nonstop from 2000 to like 2012 then stopped, but out of nowhere last December my daughter started playing with an old laptop and I found the disc and played it in my closet for two weeks during their Christmas break. Only this time I did the designed campaign rather than custom. First time ever. Holy shit I was going down to 10% strength with no AT and bodies everywhere. Goddamn 12th SS Motorized with Panthers and Nebelwurfer. The worst. Love using the the 82nd and 101st rifle companies that use bazookas and each rifle squad has a one-shot Panzerfaust

I have them all through 5. I still have them on CD but can't get the first one by Microsoft to work..even on virtual machine. I decided to get this one on GOG but noticed the resolution is stuck at 1280x1024. I tried looking around in config files but none for resolution settings. anyone know how to get it set for 1080p? These are still some of my favorite RTS games...

How did you get this game to work? Bought it on gog and tried all the things about changing resolution and running it in admin mode.

you need a 98SE system for this game, and not NT version. set pc on 01-01-2000 and there you go

I'm 3 years late to this comment but if anyone else has an issue with one of the GOG Close Combat games: 1) Open the game folder. 2) Right click on CC4.exe (or whatever CC exe you're trying to run) 3) Click on the "Compatability" tab 4) Select "Windows 98 / Windows Me" mode 5) Click Ok or Apply, game will run now

as a mega fan of CC2 I have just tested CC4 and found it slightly disappointing as a first impression. Firstly the graphics seem slightly inferior to CC2 which had better colour and more defined looking tanks and better roads! The road graphics in this map look like a quickie job which makes it feel like this game lacked the love and attention of CC2. The interface is a bit confusing, can't always seem to find the unit info I want to both on my units and the enemy, this is annoying. Gameplay seems similar to CC2 on first impression but for the above reasons I feel a bit uninspired to continue CC4 at the moment I suppose I should give it another chance I'm not sure.

Please click on Always see the enemy option. After destroying those nasty German Medium and Panther tanks you're committing a huge mistake bro. First u should send your troops with tank support to take out those German Panzerscreks Bazooka teams and wipe out their infantry before u can capture enemy positions. During last months of World War II Battle of the Bulge was a Icy Hell for Americans and the Germans but the courage valor of the Americans screwed the Germans in the End Dec 1944 to Jan 1945. Battle Strategy and bravery from the 101st Airborne Div was exceptional despite being surrounded. SS Colonel Ober Pieper was a War Criminal and so was the SS. YOUR DAD IS A WAR HERO WOW! HE GOT A BRONZE STAR IN VIETNAM AND MY LATE UNCLE GOT A VEER CHAKRA FOR BRAVERY IN INDIA PAKISTAN WAR OF 1965. 77 CONFIRMED ENEMY KILLS TO HIM AND HIS UNIT. SADLY HE DIED IN THE LAST DAYS OF THE WAR. STEPPED ON A LAND MINE WHILE ON A SEARCH AND RESCUE MISSION AS ONE OF HIS MEN WAS MISSING IN ACTION. BUT IN THE PROCESS HE GOT KIA. I GUESS WAR IS ALWAYS LIKE THAT BLOODY AND GRUESOME JUST LIKE BATTLES FOUGHT IN WORLD WAR II AND VIETNAM. AMERICA MUST WIN THE PRESENT WAR ON TERROR AND INDIA WILL SUPPORT USA ALL THE WAY.....! MY FAVORITE WAR MOVIES ARE BATTLE OF BRITAIN SAVING PRIVATE RYAN AND DAS BOOT. FAVORITE TV SHOW WAR & REMEMBRANCE, BAND OF BROTHERS & THE PACIFIC.
