This band is excellent and to be playing with a musical legend that is Jon Anderson. Jon Anderson is Yes. Sounds as good as he did in the 70's. I have there new cd and it is excellent.

It's a shame that Steve Howe did not Wait for Jon when he was having medical issues. This music is not the same without Jon's voice. They just don't get it. BUT NOW Jon has a band that can RECREATE this awesome music that I listened to my whole life. And now at 65 I can see a 79 year old Jon Anderson perform and sing this music and sound so BEAUTIFUL at his age!!! I am thrilled to see these guys. And my opinion is, THIS BAND KILLS IT !!!!!

Who needs a tribute band when you have the real Jon Anderson and his new lineup of Yes. (Of course they're not the calibre of the Yes who made Yessongs, but to many of us that was the best live album ever, and in an era when bands were making the greatest live albums ever).

I saw Yes 6 times. The first time was August 5th 1972 at Berkley Community theatre Alan White had only joined the band a week and a half prior, so they couldn't do 'Close to the edge' yet. Still a great show. I saw 6 consecutive North American tour, the 6th in June of 1976. Best progressive rock band EVER!!!!!

I was at the Chicago show at the Copernicus Center. Loved it!! Was 2nd row center, sitting behind Jon's beloved 'Janey' and his daughter. Was a very nice evening even though the sound that close tends to be a bit muddled. The visuals were outstanding!

Now that we have Jon Anderson fronting a band that captures the ENERGY of 70's Yes, it is now crystal clear that he always was the spirit and essence of Yes. Steve Howe just seems so tired leading his Yes tribute band...

I was in the front row, right by the guitarist. A transcendent show!!! Insofar as Steve and Jon not working together, well, sometimes art and commerce just don't always mix. I'm just very grateful for the material they did produce together instead of lamenting what they might have done. Besides, I would't want to hear Steve and Jon with Rick in the fold. Then, I would just get weepy-eyed over Chris and Alan not being there. That 2004 tour was simply the finest Yes tour I'd ever seen (the 1990/1991 Union tour was second best for me and I was too young for the 1978 In The Round tour).
@jamesmicucci70286 ай бұрын
@MarkPassero Agreed, 2004 was an amazing Yes tour year. I caught them at Hartford (Aug 22), NY State Fair in Syracuse (Sept 2 ), and VT State Fair in Essex Junction, near Burlington, VT (Sept 4). I've got a dvd of the NY show, and a 2 CD-R set of the complete VT show (a great audience recording, btw... to me, this Awaken was absolutely otherworldly. Little did I know that this was to be the end of (one of) the classic Yes lineups).

Well the only 'original' Yes member is right here, singing alongside 'TBG'.. I DO know I'm splitting hairs.. But really, I haven't seen Yes play with this kind of fire in a long time. There's an exuberance here. A joy that's missing in that other iteration.

When I first saw The Band Geeks a few years ago I had a thought that if Jon Anderson was to get together with this band it would be A Great Combination because of All the Turmoil over the years with the other band members from the past as well as they wanted to do their own things and Jon wanted to get back into the band after he recovered from his illness but they took it upon themselves to continue to tour without him before he was able to do it again. Then they formed ARW and they started to tour for a while and then Jon found this Band and the rest is History. Jon’s Voice is still in Very Good Shape and Almost at 100% like it was back in the early days.

This is really good, but…I sure miss Chris’s vocals, Ricks’s masterful playing, and I know some won’t like this, but I believe Steve’s playing is more passionate and precise. I will see them in about six weeks and can’t wait. There’s lots of debate about who today’s best version of Yes is, and well, my FANTASY is a Jon, Steve, and Rick or at least Oliver, and Bill reunion. I seriously doubt it would ever happen, but the money so many of us would pay might just be worth it. Yes, I know Rick is retiring and Bill already has, but I guess as Aerosmith would say, Dream On. Nonetheless, I’m so thrilled at least Jon and Steve memoralize this classic music. Saw Yes last year for Steve and will continue to see them as long as they are within 5 hours drive. Long live the music of Yes and its classic members!

Agree with most. And recently saw Yes performing an adapted Tales From Topographic Oceans suite which was pretty damn good. This is not bad at all, but just as Yes logically (they're not in their 20s or 30s -their peak- anymore) isn't quite getting the fire from the seventies and eighties anymore and this is not up to that level either. It's a good thing we have the memories and studio- and live-CD's to go back to when we want to.

I have loved YES since I first saw them in 1972 but I am unable to appreciate the current lineup for a wide variety of reasons. Jon IS Yes, also for a wide variety of reasons. Jon and The Band Geeks is the closes thing to YES that exists in 2024, for various reasons. I hope they will continue to produce new 'Yes music'. Looking forward to their upcoming album TRUE. Jon has said he doesn't think he and Band Geeks "need" to do another album, but Jon, it isn't whether you need to, it's that Yes fans everywhere want you to.
@215Gallagher6 ай бұрын
Jon Anderson is Yes; I will say Chris Squire effed up his legacy by playing on Drama with those vile Buggles and then later by remaining with Steve Howe which without Jon became another band entirely. Jon's resurgence has made me realise the most important and defining element of Yes was and is Jon and if he's not singing you are listening to some other band.
