It’s crazy to see this video, nearly 3 years after that tornado hit. I lived in Madill at the time with my husband and our children. I had just picked them up from the daycare center when the tornado started to form. My husband called me and told me to come to Steel and Wire for shelter. I rushed there, parked my black Tahoe on the scales, and we rushed down in to the shelter that was under that building. It was like a freight train went over the top of us. I remember a truck driver coming in with a wounded hand, pouring blood, and I doctored it for him as best as I could. I worked at Atwood’s at the time too.

I've watched a bunch of videos from chasers of this afternoon's storms, and some were pretty good. But none come even close to this video. Because the other chasers don't get close and personal with the tornadoes. :-) I use to love watching the late Kelley Williamson. @du4lstrik32 жыл бұрын
Typically tornadoes will follow in one direction, so if you can gauge which way it's heading, you're safe if you stay perpendicular to the direction it's heading. This isn't always foolproof, however, as we've seen from El Reno. It's rare, but tornadoes can shift path, which has cost weather-chasers their lives. Still, Hank is pretty nuts. I've always wanted to get close to some big tornadoes, but NEVER this close. All it takes is one stray plank, piece of straw or sheet metal to hit you at missile speeds and you're toast.
@bubbashubbs2982 жыл бұрын
@@du4lstrik3 Yeah. The people that do this shit just leave behind another body someone has to pick up.
Believe it or not going inside of that thing the most dangerous thing would be a chance of debris coming through his wind shield . The tornado likely had EF-0 force winds , only strong enough to knock over shallow rooted tree's , and rip roof shingles , gutters and siding of houses off. Also I think for someone with 21 years of storm chasing experience , Hank knows way more about what he is doing than you do so with no respect stfu .
