A long time ago my dad and i rented a copy of the Tai Chi, we forgot to return it. We loved it! Especially Jet Li’s character, we kept calling him Bean Curd. It was wicked. Shaolin monks doing all kind of really cool Kung fu and then they had a big fight. Jet Li was the good guy, his friend became the bad guy. So Sad Jet li’s ex friend soon killed a lot of their old friends. Jet Li was depressed he couldn’t do kung fu Until he started reading from an Old magical mystical Shaolin Manual on the greatest fighting style ever….tai chi Yes, after completing the manual an applying the principals Jet Lit became and invincible Tai Chi Master. No one could beat him…

Awesome movie by Jet Li Aka Zhang Sanfeng the mythical founder of taijiquan when he first revealed his new invention. Scare quotes used because the story of zhang sanfeng is almost surely entirely apocryphal and was an invention by later taijiquan lineage to minimize or erase chen wangtings role/significance, but just like story of the bodhidharma still gets retold and circulated as if it were historical truth. Regardless the movie is great at showing taijiquan as an actual martial art.
