I’m glad they released a platinum trim.. that just means this should’ve been the limited trim. Cheapen out the limited and release a platinum that should’ve been a limited for more $$$$$ profits. At $64K and if I want full-time 4-wheel drive, I would pay $5K more for the LC250 w/ premium pkg. The LC has a rear locker, stabilizer bar disconnect, MTS, and Crawl, making it more capable offroad than the Platinum. To choose the Platinum over the LC, I think one would have to really prefer the 4Runner's looks and/or be unwilling to shell out an extra $5K for the LC.

I'll give it a shot. I looked up comparisons on Carfax. Following 3 are from dealers. 1st car has 8K miles and is $48.5K. According to Carfax, the price should be $53,780. The 2nd has 9.5K miles and is $49,595. Says it should be $51,930. 3rd has 15K miles and is $43957 and says it's a 'Price Drop'. Says it should be $47.2K. What is obvious, is you can make a deal. All 3 are selling under 'alleged' retail and while your car is in the range, you should be able to talk them down a bit or quite a bit. Just do comparisons and take location (and options) into consideration. Nevada, South Dakota and the state of Washington, respectively, for the above 3.

Platinum not awd? (thus has a Center Locking Diff for 4x4)
@tommyus43 күн бұрын
They say 'Full Time 4WD'. What I think that means is RWD based AWD. Drives in RWD until you need it. An AWD Subaru for instance, is FWD based but becomes AWD when a front tire slips. In my Sierra, I have a Full Time 4WD mode called 'auto'. You can stay in permo RWD, 'real' 4WD Hi/Lo and in 'Auto', it's RWD until a rear tire slips. FWIW, I have an Outback and the switch to AWD is instantaneous and you can't tell. In the Sierra, it takes a split second (as in noticeable) but it will bring the back end back in line. Great in the rain.

Different Jon here, but I'll go: They will cannibalize sales from each other but that's not a problem for Toyota. The development costs of the LC are spread globally and, to some extent, shared with 4Runner. There's very little cost involved with selling the LC here. So long as the LC captures buyers the 4Runner won't, they'll come out ahead.
@hongsitu342917 күн бұрын

Really when has more options for a consumer been..bad? lol. If one doesn't like the look of the 4Runner then the land cruiser is right there, and if the land cruiser isnt for you then the GX is there...or the LX or sequoia etc. While the profit margins differ a bit on each of these products, whether someone buys a 4runner, land cruiser or gx. it's still a +1 in the sales column for toyota corporation

Any SUV with inflation the way it is will be expensive. Only way for inflation to come down is the government to quit spending and printing money and for people to stop buying. People did stop buying Wranglers but even with 10 to 15k off they are still too expensive. The CEO who just got a raise to 39 million a year decided a Jeep is a luxury vehicle. Trying find a stripped down Rubicon. You probably won't find one. I had a friend buy one in 2016 for $32,000.

for 64k, get a Land Cruiser 1958 instead which is much better car with more off road features.

I mean if you want OR features then I'd get a TRD OR 4Runner for less $$

Heck, for 64k you can get an LC mid trim w/o premium package. It will lack some luxury features but add off road features and have a nicer interior.

Why stop at a Land Cruiser? For that price range it can easily be luxury in a lexus or a even genesis would be better luxury. I can think of better truck for this price range and it’s not gonna be that small little land cruiser. I love Toyota, but they really dropped the ball because we wanted the Land Cruiser 300. This small vehicle isn’t worth 60k. Plenty of options out there. 40k would be the sweet spot for this vehicle after test driving one imo.

@@Anomize23 no complaints with my little land cruiser. glad it came out before 6th gen 4runner which I was waiting to get.

You would think the more you spend the more options you could choose from…one color interior is a mess

I feel bad for trd John and the other Asian lady KZbin channel. Especially being a Toyota fan having to be positive about these vehicles overpriced and 4 cylinder junk. Trust me I am let down more then anyone saved up for five years to buy the new Tacoma and 4 runner to be let down. So I have to now go with a Nissan frontier.

Would never buy this 4Runner at this price, also the new design is horrible looking. Looking at Nissan or whatever else.

Americans need to understand the men in power are printing money, and the value of the money is devalued, meaning things cost more. This is happening worldwide, and i dont think Trump can fix this . Debt is out of control. In Canada they sell the civic for 47grand, and tacoma is 50g starting. Nothing will be cheap again. We have discounted Jeep gladitor selling for 130, now 100g. Starting price 75. Mercedes G wagon 150 go 330.

Toyota makes it more expensive than the same class SUV from Lexus, which is more luxury and better in powertrain. Weird strategy behind, feels like they trying to puah all the regular buyers away, only to please the rich fan boys.

Damn they are nice but so expensive. Not sure if I like this color.

Why does this trim exist? Anyone shopping in this price range will just choose a Land Cruiser

Those have to be the ugliest seats Ive ever seen 😂 Compared to the simplicity and beauty of Lexus seats.... come on, that seat interior is for children not adults. disappointed.

Yea it looks a bit overboard compared to lexus for sure.

Just a short time ago, you could purchase a new 2nd generation Toyota Sequoia for around $60,000
