Do you think inflation only applies to eggs and milk? Do you see that the fed can print money for free but we all have to work for it? I would get the LC. I've seen First Editions come with Nitto ATs straight from the factory and those more aggressive tires significantly improve the relatively mundane appearance of the LC (compared to the 4Runner). The LC is more refined in every way and can likely keep up with the 4Runner offroad in most conditions.

At 70k, I'd rather get a Rivian R1T than these things with more moving parts. If I have that kind of money, then I probably have a house too and the charging will not be an issue. Road trips are not an issue because I stop often enough for bathroom/beverage/snack/stretching anyways. 10 min top off every time I stop worked fine for me when I rented the Model 3 short range for two days on a road trip that I take frequently. And the Rivians bottom heavy weight distribution makes it far more stable and capable than these things. No dealership markup, no oil changes, no fluid changes, and brake changes are every 100k miles instead of every 30-40k miles. Lease rates on EVs are dirt cheap now too because they want people to try them out and see that they can make it work for them.

I’m sure many will upgrade to their own liking, but hard to stomach investing more $ with dealers adding $10-15K mark-ups on these LC First Editions, and it (the upgrade) wouldn’t be covered with a factory warranty. Very disappointing that Toyota does not offer the 4.0 v6 as a base option in North America. Overseas Toyota offers the 4.0 v6 in the 300 series Land Cruisers for people that do not want the double turbo engine.

If you go to Toyota's site and build a mid level Land Cruiser, with minimal options, it's mid $70k's. A fully optioned one will be over $80k, so really no difference in price compared to the 200. $70k for a TRD Pro 4 Runner, or the Trail Hunter is crazy. Especially when compared to the low/mid $50k's the 5th gen TRD Pro 4Runner cost...

Wish we could get the 4Runner in Australia

I wish we had the 4Runner here in Europe as well 😥

I’ll be keeping and modding my 5th gen trd off road and go for something sportier for $70,000 for commuting.

Which car has better cargo space? Do either of them have a flat cargo space?

Don't forget the FJ Cruiser is coming back. So as of 2025, you get to choose Highlander, FJ, 4Runner or Land-Cruiser because...............HEY, TOYOTA HOW MANY MID-SIZE SUV'S DO PEOPLE REALLY NEED ??? I guarantee one of those will be gone inside 5 years and it's not just a fight between unibody and body on frame.

I think the 1958 is the sleeper. Come in at a somewhat reasonable entry price and mod it out

Both look great…have to judge based on quality and value. No price numbers for 4R yet…love to see what Platinum will entail. My gut tells me to get either a middle of the road 4R or splurge for the GX. Struggling to see where LC fits other than if you simply like its looks better. LOVE the videos TRDJON! Thx for helping us make these decisions.

Premium gas for the Land Cruiser, not sure for the 4runner. Hopefully regular 87 octane.

Well that burns through any MPG gains…smh

Is there any truth to the 4runners frame is just painted and the Landcruiser has a coated frame? If true I wonder, why they want 4runners to rust.

imo, get a late model GX460 or LX570 while you can.

What is the weight difference between the two? Is there any mpg differences since the 4Runner has 2wd options?

I trust the land cruisers over the poor runner simply bc they have the prado in japan. Plus the prado is pimp

The 4runner is linterally a suv converted Tacoma. Just get a tacoma with a canopy and boom, you already have a 4 runner. Same engine, chassis, transmission. Much cheaper.

Here in East Tennessee, there is one stand out for me because we get a lot of rain and some snow. The Land Cruiser is the only model out of the two with full time all wheel drive

I’m 100% with you on the full-time AWD, my understanding is the 4Runner Limited will continue with this, as it has in the past.
@TRDJon6 ай бұрын
As mentioned, the 4R will have full time 4wd for the platinum model and I believe Limited as well.
@josephbarbato96686 ай бұрын
@@TRDJon yes but if it doesn’t have the lockers like the Land Cruiser, same as the current gen, it’s not really comparable.

You didn't mention center and rear lockers in your comment so thats why I mentioned that.

I feel like the LC250 is a better buy than either the 4Runner or GX. The 4Runner TRD Pro is $12k overpriced. The LC250 Land Cruiser Edition with the Premium Package is better equipped than the GX Overtrail+ (TT V6 aside) and is $12k cheaper.
