Nice Blu-ray set. Just a pity it has the syndicated 2-part versions of the 2 hour episodes instead of the feature-length versions. Mostly cuz the 2-parts versions cut various scenes out, which sucked. What would've been awesome was if they released both formats together so viewers can choose which version they wanna watch.

The absolute BEST reason to pick up the old Universal DVD set (1st Season at least) is the alternate commentary track on the Pilot episode. Glen A. and The Hoff are reminiscing throughout the episode, and The Hoff gets progressively more drunk as time goes on. Hilarity, as they say, ensues.

Very nice set. Got the DVD set a couple years back, had to get a replacement due to the stacking issue. The second set were in the flip case style which is much better.

I just bought this and also paid 46 dollars. Bought it to replace my flipper DVD discs because they were damaged after awhile. I don't like the stacking of discs either but as you said blu-rays are tougher then DVD. My only small quibble about the blu-ray release over the DVD is that when Univeral showed the 2 hour episodes like the pilot and Goliath Universal showed them as the originally aired as 2 hour specials but on the blu-ray they are the syndicated 2 part airings. I know it's not a big deal, but I like to see things as they originally aired. That is just my small quibble. Also in Part 2 of Knight of The Drones there is a small scene edited out. Thats when after Bonnie rebuilt KITT and then left the semi Micheal & Devon decide to go behind the curtain to look at him. The scene that is missing is Devon & Micheal looking at KITT's new dash and KITT showing them some of his new features before Micheal drives off to rescue Bonnie. I always thought that scene was cool. Sadly it's a deleted scene most people don't notice unless they have had the Universal DVD release of Season 3. Again a small quibble. However I will admit the picture quality way betted then the DVDs I had so it's still worth it to upgrade.

There's also the scenes from "Knight of the Drones" of an elderly couple, who have only 2 or 3 scenes throughout the feature-length version. In the 2-part version, think they were pretty much edited out entirely.

You only need to get a copy of the original 1st season set it came with the knight Rider 2000 reunion movie on a disc by itself with all the extra’s for the entire series.

I think my next purchase will be Hawaii 50 the original 1970s complete series. It goes for around 100 dollars . It’s only available on dvd but if it ever comes out on blu ray I’ll just purchase it again

Kind of a technical case question: Are the cases 12mm standard blu-ray case size? Also, can more than 2 discs be stacked on each stacking hub? I'm looking for a 12mm case that can hold more than 4 discs at once.

Hey remember that 40th uncut Anniversary in Germany by Turbine that you said you liked but was too pricey on your budget? Well you will be glad to know it's been repackaged at a cheaper price as Knight Rider: The Special Edition set. This set just has 21 discs, the 4 seasons and the bonus disc with interviews. Looks like it got cut down to around 100 dollars and like the last German set it's region free and plays the English audio. Just thought you should know in case you want to upgrade without it breaking your budget.

Is Mill Creek so cheap that they have to put stacked discs inside DVD cases? Is there any way that flipper cases can be bought for these? I recently found out that Blu-ray discs get scratched also

You can buy flipper cases and swap the discs over to those if you want. Mill Creek is a bargain company, so yes they are "that cheap." Let's just be grateful that they actually made all this wonderful content available over here, when Universal showed no interest in doing so themselves.

@@zaranyzerak Well, Universal started releasing Knight Rider with season 1 through 4 as flipper discs. The second release was the box set and that had all single-sided discs with about four episodes each or six episodes each and then they release the Slimmer DVD cases which house the six DVDs in flipper cases. Those DVDs on the Slimmer cases had a bonus features as well. Later on came the Mill Creek re-releases without those bonus features carried over. You know something I noticed though, I try to get a different Blu-ray case to replace the one that I have broken and I noticed that cardboard slider doesn't fit or it's too small. That's when I found out that all the Blu-ray cases and or DVD cases are different.

They also did make a DVD version along with this set, but the packaging of that is very cheap with the discs in paper inserts. Yeah, that's going to make it more likely for the discs to get scratched. I may eventually just seek out the old season releases.

Yeah, that seems to be the standard for Mill Creek's DVD Complete Series sets right now. The Sliders set I got is like that too.

Yeah we've had this in the UK but they are expensive. Quantum Leap is expensive. Kind of a shame any work isn't being put into extra features.

The seasons sold separately were the only ones that are double sided discs. The big box edition didn't have them. They are single sided. It's why a lot of people still want it over the seasons sold separately

Those were created and owned by Universal specifically for their DVDs, Mill Creek didn't have the rights to use them. Only the episodes themselves.

You may want to upgrade and get the new Knight Rider 40th Anniversary Blu-ray set by the German company Turbine & Universal. All episodes are uncut and fully restored with original music and better sound quality. It's region free and the set includes the 2 movies Knight Rider 2000 & Knight Rider 2010 and all 22 episodes of Team Knight Rider. Audio is in English & German and has subtitles In both English & German as well This is a limited edition because Universal is only making 3939 copies then after that it will be gone. I thought you should know because it puts the old Mill Creek one to shame.

It's not 90 episodes, it is 85. 86 if you count the two hour pilot movie as two episodes. The imdb episode guide clearly shows this, as does the episode count on the set.

Wikipedia is including the 2-part stories as two individual episodes. The DVD/Blu-ray sets and the official guide on imdb count the two parters as a single two-hour episode, which is often how they first aired. There were 5 2-part stories, so there's your extra 5 episodes.

Knight Rider U.S version not better than U.K version because U.S version doesn't have bonus features and not full restored hi definition U.K does, and the menu screen dont like, that why U.S version blu ray is cheap than U.K version, U.K version blu ray boxset is expensive Knight Rider, and DVD knight Rider better as well U.K version.

Same transfers for both. Only difference is special features or lack thereof. Also it's cheap because it's Mill Creek that put it out here, not because of a lack of quality for the product. All of Mill Creek's titles are affordably priced.
