The missing episode from Energon (also known as Superlink in Japan) episode 33 was "Return! Our Scorponok" & yeah it had quite a few important story plots that include. 1. Scorponok and Ironhide's relationship undergoes a turning point that drives it through the rest of the series to literally the final episode. 2. The Decepticons discover that the energon sun is Unicron's head, which plays into the remainder of this story arc. 3. The opening scene of the episode is pretty much the only time anyone has a reaction to Inferno's death from the previous episode, so in Energon, it's like nobody cares. 4. Alpha Q finally recreates his home planet in this episode, but since he never accomplished it in Energon, it completely removed the whole entire fricking point of everything that he was doing and the main thing that had driven the series forward to this point. AAARGH. So yeah & there is litereally no answer to why they just skipped such an important episode when it contained so much that was important to so many of the ongoing plotlines. Animated still feels like a crime that it was cancelled & a lot of the blame could be on the Michael Bay movies cause 1. many retails stores dropped the animated toyline cause they wanted the shelfs filled with the new movie toyline & 2. cause of the dropped toyline Cartoon Network didn't want to run a series that had a going toyline as they are still stuck thinking it's the 1980's.

Yeah, it's definitely a head scratcher as to why they omitted such an important episode... Fansubs to the rescue, I guess!

The answer to Robots in Disguises absence is it’s owned by Disney. So we need a miracle to get it on DVD. I’ve asked Shout recently about it and haven’t heard back yet.

To clarify Fox Kids Dubbed RiD and Disney got it when they bought them and we know they don’t license stuff out.

Yeah, their disdain to release ANY of the TV shows they own anymore beyond umpteen re-releases of the old titles originally released 15+ years ago is beyond disheartening.

I'm planning to get those 4 this year. Also it would be awesome if they would reissue Transformers Beast Wars Complete Series DVD so all 8 discs can be in a thick DVD case with the same discs and have a sleeve for the thick case.

I should mention on Cybertron the final episode on the last disc is actually the second episode chronologically, this is for both the Paramount, original and shout factory sets, although the Paramount original set the episode “hidden” only has half of the episode, Paramount did offer replacement discs at the time, but since the Paramount original set is out of print, good luck, trying to find them, you’re better off getting either the Shout factory set or getting the A new beginning DVD for the full episode

The reason why RID never got a release over here is because technically it's owned by Disney, since Saban dubbed the show. It's been unreleased officially in the states ever since

Just a few corrections: 1. Only Rhino did Armada. Energon and Cybertron were from Paramount, as was the first two seasons of Animated (rather than Sony) 2. I don't recall Animated being in syndication so... 3. The Paramount releases of Animated had some of the shorts while the Shout Factory releases did not.

The reason RID 2001 isn't on DVD is because it was ran by Saban the guy who did power rangers........well Disney bought Saban in like 2004 and the right of RID2001 got lost in transaction Saban didn't own disney didn't want simple it's in limbo I have a dvd but it's from Taiwan very hard to find but it's a remastered version of US versions we seen on Fox Kids in 2001 And anyone who finds that both UK releases might wanna hold on to them that's only way to officially watch unless KZbin old vhs recordings

Yep, I just have a rip of the UK DVD release as I know it's unlikely we'll see it any time soon, if ever, because of all those rights entanglements. It's annoying having that gap in the collection.

FOX owned the rights to the English dub if RID'01, however I do believe there was a Region 2 DVD release.

The thing is that these are heavily edited... The originals have a lot more content... Why they edited Armada, Energon, and Cybertron makes no sense... I only watch them because of the well known voice actors... But I do perfer the Japanese Uncut... Which Tv Nihon also subbed... It's also hard trying to find those fansubs now...

To be fair, that's almost always the case with anime translated for non-specialty TV. Even moreso with the stuff we had in the 80s and 90s.

Armada had some good ideas, but the execution of kiddy acting was very cringe. Energon is technically the very first Transformers thing I was exposed to EVER (freaking 17 years ago now. I feel old). Loved it as a 5-6 year old, but it's definitely not aged well. Cybertron is a similar history but it does hold up a little better than Energon. Animated I flatout love to the core & a 4th Season definitely would've been in every sense of the world nice.

It is necessary for those of us that like to collect the shows and have something to display on our shelves. Also, if any of those shows ever leave the streaming sites or move to one we don't have, we can still watch them whenever we like because we actually own them.
