Hey just want to let you know for the future that you can donate clothes to women’s shelters so you know they’re being used. I work at a thrift shop and to cut down on waste we donate all clothes to a battered women’s shelter. A lot of the time these are the only clothes they have so they don’t care about style/look.

Oh man it's so so relatable! I gave up after buying 3 different ones throughout my adult life. Realised I wore my denim one all the time so just bought a black corduroy jacket in the same style as my denim one. Finally got a suitably "cool, ever so slightly edgy" black jacket that I actually wear 👌😂

I always say « keep the blazer ». You never know. Im convinced its worth keeping no matter who you are. If you dont wear blazers on the daily only keep one, dont keep buying them. But keep the one black blazer you can throw on for WHATEVER reason. 43:40 omg I agree so much. I manage events for a company (tradeshows/conventions) and it kills me to see all the mass produced garbage companies give out that just ends up in the trash or a junk drawer. From what I've heard about clothing and color theory, black should actually look really good on you if you're pale and of cool coloration. You seem to be warm to neutral so that's maybe why you're unsure? But I've found that people with warm colored skin tones tend to be able to get away with wearing colors that don't "suit" them more than cool ones. What I'm trying to say is - don't shy away from black just because you're pale!

Oh god YES to those convention/event t-shirts. I can't throw them away because c'mon it's a t-shirt, it's CLOTHING, but why would I ever want to wear a t-shirt with some advert/logo from a thing that happened? I absolutely love closet clean out videos and I appreciate the fact that you showed every item and talked about each one. This is an older video now, but just in case you do see this comment I'll say that I personally think selling fast fashion on dpop and similar is a great idea. For one, it keeps it out of the landfill (even donated items frequently end up in the landfill) and secondly, it gives low income people (like me) an opportunity to buy something for dirt cheap. Sometimes even fast fashion is too expensive for me. When I find fast fashion in decent condition for like 25 cents I feel like I've won the lottery. Legit. You said you're not worried about making money and I know you care about the environment so figured I'd throw it out there. Listing really cheap stuff could help low income folks like me while also keeping the clothes out of a landfill. Especially if you're willing to do things like offer free shipping. That's a huge help (thinking of ebay specifically with that one) that's way better than donating to a thrift shop in my opinion. Thrift stores usually jack up the prices on good stuff and throw away the not good stuff anyway. Plus they pay their top staff a fortune. Donating has all kinds of pitfalls honestly. Better if you can find a way to give it directly to people who need it I think. Anyway, just food for thought :)
@TiffanyFerguson
@TiffanyFerguson 3 жыл бұрын
Yes good points! 💛 Whenever I list on Depop I usually just charge enough to cover shipping, unless I’m selling something that was way more expensive or brand new. It’s always nice to know a piece has a new home!
