Im culling tomorrow. I went from a size 20 to 12, which I thought is when it would stop. It didn't, down to a 10. Ok, this it it! Nope, I'm now a size 8 and have been here for over a year and stabilized, so culling is needed.

After years of yo yo dieting and emotional eating, and taking the controversial Victoza, now known as Ozempic (which btw when you stop you put it all back on and some more), I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia . And borderline diabetic and hbp. I'm in my forties and I just decided I can't do this anymore, my son is only 7 and I'm not getting old like this. I made an appointment with a bariatric surgeon. That was the March. I only got approved for bariatric surgery after a barrage of tests, appointments with an endocrinologist, dietician, xrays, scans, psychologist multiple times. Surgery was approved July. It was a helluve process and the preparation both physically and psychologically was intense. They make it very clear that this is not a quick fix and only a tool to assist me in making my changes I need to make. And I weighed in at 108 kgs in the March, surgery day I weighed in at 98. Losing weight and healthy lifestyle changes is one of the prerequisites before surgery approval hence my 10kg loss. The 16th December I had lost 35kgs. The following March was my checkup and I came in at 57kgs. The goal weight set by my dietician was 65kgs, so I was under. The September I came in at 47kgs and it stopped there. So now I go between 47 and 52 kgs. I've been the same now for 3 years. Obviously my eating habits have changed and I cannot eat alot at any given time so I eat more often in a day. Say every 2 hours I'm having something. Downside, I have to take supplements every day due to malabsorbtion and a B12 shot at the nurse every month. Am I sorry I did it, no! Best decision ever. No more pre existing conditions and Im off all chronic meds. Per my height and current weight my BMI is spot on. I never feel deprived, I eat very well but in very small portions and luckily for me, which the surgeon said may happen, my taste changed. So now I crave fresh and new tastes. I struggle with any kind of takeaway, it makes me nauseous and tastes terrible, especially pizza in a box. So I cook alot now. I love fresh fruit and veggies and I include those in my daily food intake. And, that is how I did it. One of the most difficult journeys I've had to do in my life. I cannot eat before of emotions anymore so I've had to adopt other healthier coping mechanisms, which the team at the bariatric clinic help with.

Idea for Closet Confessions and I don’t see that it’s been done If you have started to introduce color (ie cobalt blue, hot pink, lemon yellow, etc) but you only have tops what do I pair them with on the bottom. My bottoms are mostly black, jeans, some camo, white, just basics. I plan to introduce color on the bottom but budget is not there yet. Need guidance ❤❤❤ Trinny I’m in the US and have watched and loved your advice since the BBC channel came to cable and the first show I watched was What Not to Wear!!! I’m 45 now and can honestly say I am having to rebuild complete wardrobe because of weight change

@Lizmartin179 One transition tip - as you introduce more colored bottoms to your closet - is to use accessories. For example: Colored top + jeans → thread a colored scarf or belt through loops. Try a colored purse or shoes to tie an outfit together. A third outerwear piece can sometimes pull a look together. For example: Colored top + white bottoms + a solid or patterned Jacket, Vest or Coat with some of both colors in the fabric.

* The most important thing isn't actually the colour on top so much as the tones & shades * - e.g. wearing a pastel top with black bottoms will effectively wash out the colours, because black is too harsh a level of contrast against softer colours like pastels. This only works if it mimics your natural colouring (i.e. very dark hair with pale white skin & light eyes - e.g. clear blue eyes). Which brings me onto * the second most important thing - figuring out your your existing colouring & then harmonising your clothes with that* . E.g. if you're very high contrast (like the above example), then a really punchy & bright coloured top with black bottoms would look smashing. But it would totally drown out someone with a naturally lower value contrast (think golden brown hair with light to medium tanned skin & similarly hazel eyes). So if you're a lower contrast person on the lighter end of the spectrum, you may look better in a mid toned top paired with khaki cargo pants (or camo). An all pale grey or white-out denim look could also work. A low contrast person on the darker end of the spectrum can get away with an all black outfit (if the blacks suit their undertones) - otherwise all chocolate, all navy or all charcoal grey could work too. Yes, black clothing can have more of a warm (think reddish) or cool (think blueish) undertone too! If you're just starting out, you want bottoms that work with (rather than against) your natural colouring (I.e. complexion, hair, eyes). You can then add wilder colours on the bottom half once you've figured that out. Trinny's book Fearless can help with that (think she E.g. I've figured out I'm in a Deep and Warm tonal direction (I believe they call it a Dark Autumn in the seasonal colour analysis). So getting rid of all my denim (except for chocolate jeans) has been incredibly freeing. I don't actually own black bottoms anymore (bar gymwear & undies lol) & I now know that I can just skip all the racks of white in the summertime & make a beeline straight for the browns instead. May you work your way up to that level of sartorial freedom too 😁 But it starts with accepting you for you, & working WITH the things you cannot change (like your skintone). Hope that helps!

Just flipping through old photos, and telling stories about where she was going and what she was wearing. She began wearing designer clothes in her twenties. So that is four decades of dedicated acquiring and collecting. Plus the things she's kept from her mother and father.

Well done to Trinny - in the right mood, pretty ruthless for her, and chucking things out for the right reasons - Molly largely bang on too, but strangely tolerant of the killer shocking pink: as you get older, you need to be really careful not to be overpowered by unforgiving colour. The slightest change in the shade can make it OK - or not. Liked the long frilly cuffs with the severe navy, and the kerchief (altho' it's a slightly Sloaney look which I'm surprised Trinny tolerated - the severe navy helped, with its good silhouette). Yes to the unworn but splendid blue shirt, Molly was right, but no to the bleached/faded looking leopard hat - Molly off there! With the days longer and yearning for spring I culled some silk shirts/blouses in the last 3 days, as no longer flattering enough, but immediately ordered better - I hope - replacements to try, as my wardrobes are not overstocked and they left a gap...

Also, every city has commercial dyeing companies. People take curtains, bedcovers, theatre wardrobes, etc to be dyed. So you may prefer to let the professionals do it.

So that's for her and her family/close circle to assess. /As for the 'tons of new stuff' - the Fashion industry has been part of her career since her early thirties at least. Coupled with a dedicated love of dressing creatively, mixing 'High & Low', and collecting her favourite designers (like Stella McCartney, Dries Van Noten, Celine, Prada, etc).
