I have that same breton striped Zara jumper in the beginning! My colour palette has moved warmer since then but I just can't bear to get rid of it because, like you said, it's a quality piece! All the patterns line up, the buttons *still* haven't fallen off, it's viscose but not the type that makes you feel sweaty, it's thin enough to tuck in but without losing structure... the list goes on! Anyway, the point is, thank you for giving me some ideas on how to wear it! Sorry for reviving an old video, but I just had to chime in to agree that sometimes 'fast' fashion *can* be good quality too - we just need to know what to look for to be able to spot it when we see it!

The thing I love most about Trinny is she embraces giving younger women the opportunity to work alongside her in an equal way, she never makes them feel less than, or inexperienced even though she is an expert in her field. I just love that. (I still miss Cha Cha from her channel too!)

Trinny I’m so glad to see you still doing fashion videos. I have your books What not to wear and my personal favorite What to wear can change your life. I wear lots of color and like to put together three colors if I can and maybe a trump card fourth if it suits. I am turning 50 in December and I hate boring drab styles. I look at it as a celebration of life! I even have pink or purple hair and manicured fingernails. Usually just a tinge in the hair, not Strawberry Shortcake lol! It would be awesome if we could get updated books with todays fashion! You look freaking fantastic by the way! Love you! 😍😘

Hope you're back to feeling good about yourself by now? But I'd probably just live in knits & stretchy fabrics lol - lots of wrap dresses, elasticated skirts, ponte trousers etc... maybe some looser jackets (like cocoon coats & capes) with two-way zips, to be able to adjust them as needed?

I think the checked coat had the wrong colour otherwise it might have been fun. It has taken me a long time, but I have accepted that going out, going in, going out will never look good on me. So I like my narrow shoulders now and embrace the trapeze and I always show my ankles. I bet you would too, if you had my body. That may be the reason I‘m neither spot nor stripe,, but (abstract) flower. I‘d do green and fuchsia in a heartbeat though.

Depends which style of trainers, plimsoll or "tennis"shoes (never "sneakers" in proper English) you mean. They do not all look the same. There are a lot of slip-on styles which actually scream "pensioner" and look very frumpy themselves.

Maybe that’s why I love a Breton top, my shoulders are narrow. Traditional advice for large-busted me is not to wear them, but I think they work great on me, just not too tight. I absolutely tuck in all tops, unless they end at or above my hipbone. I’m not tall, and my legs look really short when I wear long tops. That long tunic top over leggings or skinnies look is so outdated, unflattering, aging and frumpy, I don’t get why so many mature women wear it daily. I’m not thin, my tummy’s not flat, but I tuck in anyway, it improves proportions so much. It’s more important than covering up an “imperfect” tummy, they’re supposed to be a bit rounded.

Just because YOU cannot wear long tunics over leggings or trousers without looking frumpy, DOESN'T mean no-one else can. Others may have the necessary slim figure and height to carry it off perfectly, even in middle age and later.
