I love that you put pictures of your kids over the rack for their coats. It was the perfect choice. So much of your home recognizes that it's their home too, not just that they are living in your home. You are purposefully fostering of a subliminal sense of belonging. Every child deserves that but too few receive it. Great job, Erica!

Adding shelving to the closet certainly helped. You could consider hanging the adult coats and off-season kids’ coats on the rod and move your entryway setup as is back into the closet where the hooks are now. I’ve watched a lot of declutters and open hooks and shoes by the door are hard to keep tidy but every family is different. Hope it works for your family. So nice to meet your Mom and Dad, what a treat. Luv your vids.

Great job, Erica! Big improvement. :D ♥ A suggestion - If you have any empty bins/containers that would fit on your extra pantry shelves, I would use them for the canned items (maybe one for soups and one for jams, etc.) and put them on the higher shelves. That way, you can keep them from falling over and looking messy, and at arm level, they would be easy to pull out and see what they are. Having to bend over to search through all those loose cans would drive me crazy. Just a thought. :) Whatever works for you. ♥

Also, a suggestion for overflow pantry items is to get shoebox size bins for each type of canned good. They stack well and you can label them. I can fit 7 cans in each bin. So I know if we use 2 black beans I can easily pull out the bin after shopping to refill it in the back. So then I'm also using first in first out. You'll be able to fit way more on those shelves this way!
@tanyajohnston82622 жыл бұрын
love meeting your mom and dad. So great they could help out. Love their thoughts about your door stopper :) You could have a nice large basket by the kids coats to put in sweaters or pullovers in case of need when really cold. Still would look good and would be handy. Then another basket for shoes. Leaving only the one needed coat per child. Just a thought The kids pictures are great there. At first I was thinking about the large mirror you have so can check self on the way out the door and would open up the space, maybe.
