Customer's trucks are sitting on lots for weeks waiting for engines. I hope Toyota comps them for renting a replacement.

It's WAY TOO LATE to salvage Toyota's reputation. As for replacing the engines...there is NO OTHER WAY to fix these engines.

LOL to anyone who thinks this will kill Toyota LOL! If Toyota was smart they would stop making them in America and return to making them 100% in Japan because I bet all of this was some lazy kid screwing around on his phone not paying attention to the cleaning process or some lazy that did not inspect the engine well before sending it down the line. Got through the machining process and through quality control inspection I know they have people to inspect critical areas in engine building. I plan on buying a Tundra after they get the issues corrected.I am planning on putting a new engine and transmission at the same time on my 2003 GMC Sierra. The LS Based V8 engines were the most reliable and dependable engines GM ever made and well worth fixing. I mar redo the suspension at the same time. Inside it is in mint condition other than a few scratches on the dash . When you look at new trucks starting at 60 grand for same basic features mine has that 8-10 grand to rebuild mine looks like the way to go.

Import new engines from Japan, even Hyundai and Kia have problems with AMERICAN Built engines, Whats going on there?
@PeterFusco2 ай бұрын
It has nothing to do with where the engines are built. The manufacturing processes are designed in Japan by Japanese engineers. You don't see these issues in the vast majority of American engines, not that American vehicles don't have their own problems. Thing is, when profit surpasses quality in importance, the entire industry goes to hell.
