Many thanks for this video Joie. I've often wanted to do these closures but could never get them right. Now I can have another go, especially as I picked up a large supply of differently coloured brads in a charity shop. I use them to make flower cluster embellishments; to avoid damaged fingers I back the opened brad prongs with a tiny piece of sellotape before adding a glue dot or sticky pad. I'd love to see the three-pocket envelopes!

I usually put a tiny piece of washi tape over the brad closure to make sure nothing gets stuck. :) Love your creativity btw

I love your ways of changing up my favourite closure 😍 you're saved in my ideas playlist as always😄. Love your zen calm on Sunday mornings! Those skinny washi tapes are so pretty 😍. I'm thinking you could use up any leftover paint and stuff from projects to have a selection to punch from. Great use of negative space. Oh I have those mini brads, I sometimes decorate them with nuvo drops, you can make them look like little mushrooms by adding dots 😄 so adorable 😍. We used to call them split pins years ago. Yes, pockets and envelopes would be good to see. Tfs 💖💖

Really good idea. The circles would also make good border decorations. Using g negative space as centering device and setting the brad back horizontally are 2 ideas I.I'm tucking into my strategy arsenal! 😊

Hi Joie! I love punching circles, lol! I have a box full that I punched from empty Kleenex boxes, Good and Plenty boxes, perfume boxes, greeting cards, etc. Always on the lookout for packaging with interesting patterns. The thickness works well for closures, or just embellishments 🙂

Thanks for the tutorial. A piece of washi (or other tape) could be put on the inside the envelope to cover the back of the brad so nothing gets caught on it.

Excellent content. Love the recycling, upcycling and mixed media. For those of us with a cutting machine, we can cut dozens of these with little effort. We could even add the brad hole or two button holes.

I totally forgot how to make these. I always love the ones you have with a little stripes on them and I guess I didn't know how you did it. I don't remember watching this video at all. But I am glad I found it now. The set of rats is no longer available at Amazon. I guess I don't really need that many anyway. Love these closures! WIll be making them. Also, for an unlimited colour choice on brads (or to change the colour if you don't like it) paint the top of them with old nailpolish. I make various sparkly ones that way. :-)

Joo-wweeeee!! E gads, woman! Where have you been? OK, never mind, where have I been? I know, a bad subbie to be sure. I've been confounding doctors and all their tests for several weeks now, all of which makes a girl quite tired as you can imagine. Still scratching their collective head trying to figure out why I kept passing out and had some pretty gnarly left flank pain for a couple weeks, with one having nothing to do with the other. Reference what I thought was a kidney stone they assure me I didn't pass any sort of a stone and re: my passing out they have ruled out any sort of occlusion to my brain. Yipes! I'm far too young for such talk!! Anyway... back to the task at hand... I love your use of negative space in lining up the hole in the envelope! I'm gonna make some of those circle things complete with Washi to add to my "Little Round Things" bucket - I like all the different colors and coordination (but NOT matchy-matchy) a stash will provide and once I get my own set of colorful brads I can match those too. Thanks for the link! It always scares me when you and I get all fired up about the same things at the same time, namely brads and... and... those round things 🤷 (grommets come to mind but that's not it... same thing but smaller... you know the things... 🤦) I remember being in the hospital thinking I'd missed y'all's podcast but I see I did not. Whew!! I haven't listened yet, but I surely will! Lovely to hear you again, I've been out of the loop and missed everybody! It might be a minute but I'll try to be my ol' loopy self soon as I can.
