THANK YOU for your work! I'm a flight attendant...we frequently have guests on board who are deaf. I know a little ASL, and it's always appreciated when I make the attempt to use it. But, I'd love to learn how to say things like: baggage claim, oxygen mask, life vest, snacks& beverages, boarding pass, departure & arrival, seatbelt sign, remain seated, and whatever other signs you think might be helpful. I LOVE your videos and just subscribed.

I really like the videos you produce! They are very thorough and easy to follow. I'm sure there would be a TON of people who would benefit from a video about ASL signs that you can use with babies and toddlers. I've seen a ton of videos on Baby Signs that aren't demonstrating actual ASL signs (they are ignoring one or more of the 5 pieces that go into signing, or just making signs up). Signs like: Milk, eat, food, more, help, pick up, change your diaper, play, sleep, nap, yes, no, all done, what, where, wait one minute, stop, go in the car, car seat, seat belt, park, brush your teeth, wash your hands, bath, get dressed, put on shoes/ clothes, ect.

Thank you for these videos. I have 2 nephews who are deaf. I know some asl but sometimes get confused. Also we have a lady now who attends our church who is deaf. Our Pastor's wife knows sign language well and interprets for her. But I would like to be able to better communicate with this lady as well as my nephews. This is helping me. I'm so thankful.

Please cover cashier. I work as a cashier and serve deaf people, although I know a little bit of asl it has been a long time since I used it. My ex-sister in -law was deaf and I worked at a vo-tech and took a course in it. But that has been a while back and by no means am I a expert in it. So it would be a great help in learning some sign language for a cashiers job.

I fi cant get the hang of language structure of ASL, does it effect the emaning of what I'm saying? For example in english you would say "Your belt and shoes must match" But in ASL you would say Belt shoes match must. If i signed Belt shoes must match, is that okay?

Sorry for the inconvenience. We have had reported issues with that particular form. Which is odd as it should be the most direct way of signing up. It appears that most people lately have had success by signing up through our website LearnHowToSign.org There’s a pop up that will encourage you to sign up for our newsletter. If that doesn’t work email us at klfamilytime@gmail.com and we can add you manually. Thanks for your support in watching our videos!

Could you make some videos geared toward children? So for example, do the colors one but actually physically show the colors on the screen somehow. Same with animals, you could show a picture of the animal. My 5-year-old loves these videos, but my deaf (with cochlear implants) 2.5-year-old is lost since she has no point of reference for the words. Maybe this exists and I just don't realize it?

I am curious, why is the sentence structure "different", than say spoken words. I mean that in the best possible way, and for instance Spanish to english, in English its "the black dog" but in Spanish its el perro negro, which literally translates to the dog black. I understand its just how things are, but what rules are there as far as asl ? I had the hardest time, thinking in English, and trying to speak Spanish! lol YES, your videos are fantastic! You not only show the sign itself, but tell what it represents, so idiots like me, will retain it longer! lol
@marina_nanana3 жыл бұрын
ASL was originally based on French Sign Language and so has some influence from French grammar, so that might be the reason for the sentence structure differing from English
