As roles evolve, DevOps and SysOps Engineers are really glorified Operations/System Administrators as to Cloud Engineer equivalent to Systems Engineer and Cloud Architect to Solutions or Systems Architect. A lot of Sysadmin jobs are under different variations of iob titles such as Cloud Administrator, DevOps Engineer, Azure Administrator or AWS administrator. Many traditional Sysadmin job titles simply gotten a name swap given that job titles in IT can be ambiguous.
@GoCloudArchitects3 жыл бұрын
They created a lot of job titles that do not help the applicants understand what the job is. Thank you for the comment! #CloudHired
@eman08283 жыл бұрын
@@GoCloudArchitects Yeah let alone confuse people with the DevOps title as an acutal role in IT when in reality it's not an acutal role but instead a cultural method or process of doing things with in a company like agile. It even took my quite some time to educate myself and truly understand what DevOps was about. HRs and Recruiters don't understand what it is either and change the job title as a buzzword. So many Sysadmin job titles have been swapped to hype up the buzzword. I mean they could of just kept the Sysadmin job title as is and specify in the job description with a DevOps approach collaborating with the developers since not all companies practices or utilities thr DevOps approach.

Olu, Our focus on on cloud computing. For devops training I would go to global knowledge. They have some high quality certification training. We can help you with the cloud aspect of devops but really you will need some real industry training too. For the true devops training I would go to global knowledge. I just want to make sure you are hire able when your done your training. A simple AWS devops certification is just not enough unless you have a deep devops offering. So I would do that and get some good cloud knowledge. We are going to do a free live AWS certified solutions architect bootcamp on June 14th. That will give you the requisite AWS knowledge and it’s free. www.gocloudarchitects.com/free-aws-csa-p-bootcamp

How would you actually define the difference to a solutions architect?
@GoCloudArchitects3 жыл бұрын
Honestly I don’t know what a solutions architect really is. As that term is used by interior decorators, to plumbers, phone systems, so web designers and then if course and everyone including AWS. Since it’s really a meaningless term it could be anything from someone framing a picture to a cloud architect. And when used in the cloud world it can literally mean anything. Anything from sales, dev ops, says ops, cloud engineer, cloud architect etc. So I focus on cloud architects, cloud engineers, cloud security architects, cloud sysops engineers, cloud devops engineers etc. Your question is a great one. I’m so glad you asked. The more we can narrow down what we want to do the better and faster we can achieve those goals.

Could you do a video on which Cloud Vendor Certifications would give a future Cloud Engineer newbie the better options for a foot in the door in 2022? GCP, Azure, AWS.
@GoCloudArchitects3 жыл бұрын
Sure. We can do that. But most of the certifications that will give the cloud engineer the competitive advantage will be outside the cloud vendor space. Meaning once someone has an azure expert, or aws Certified solutions architect professional the cloud engineer would be better served by getting more industrial certifications. Things that have much more correlation to the work cloud engineers do. Something that give the cloud engineer the depth to do their work. Terraform Linux Scripting And many crucial cloud engineer skills. The things cloud engineers will need to do each day. The things that are not covered in cloud certification. The things that get someone hired. But we can put together something for the cloud engineering audience. But know it won’t just be a list of cloud certifications. It will be more geared towards building a cloud engineer brand. Certifications can help someone get an interview. It’s knowledge that gets someone hired. So certifications are really the resume padding for the interview. The competitive advantage comes from expertise.

@GoCloudArchitects2 жыл бұрын
No. The jobs are exactly opposite. Your can’t fly and airplane and take care of people in their seats at the same time. People don’t want an engineer to be an architect. They want an executive. It’s completely different skill set. The architect focuses on the business. Sysops people focus on teach. So you need to pick one.
