Don't forget to combine prime mode with sonic boom. Cloud literally turns into a killing machine with it

Why does my playstyle revolve around casting like 20 Cures and/or Prayers per fight instead of learning how to block. I did the same 4 years ago! In part 3 I will master the block.

Dude how many times have you died to get this impeccable timing down ??? Perfect parties the entire match….sometimes it feels like he uses that damn Zantetzuken every opportunity he can. I use Cloud, Tifa and Yuffie and use detrimental stats every chance I can. “Oh. You’ve put 3 detrimental stats on me, been using hella ATB gauges, and buffed yourself, but your computer didn’t block 2-3 attacks? Zantatzuken 🤓”.

It's thanks to Prime mode ability. It upgrades Punisher mode. And when you press triangle while in punisher mode, Cloud will make a jump.

Is it just a block after the attack or is it Triangle for punisher mode? Is there a specific timing for the block? It feels to me like there’s a huge recovery between being doing most moves and being able to block

@@mikelmins it's just a block IN punisher mode, with R1. But if I'm not in punisher mode, i would press Triangle to counter the first strike and then use R1 for the next ones.

Dont hold block if you want to parry combos press it after every parry hold until attack connects then press hold again

Not sure what part you were looking at but it might be because of punisher mode. You can press R1 to block and counter again soon after the first block and counter.

It gives a buff. It increases Attack and Magic power.

Why did he not do that 9999 damage attack? When I fight him he does that like after 30 seconds or so.

If you don't get hit, he won't do it. Also, if Odin has debuffs it delays it as well. The trick to Odin is to avoid eating needlessly damage. Cloud counter even if you eat block damage works like a charm.

@@gui2035 I'm not sure if it's enough to prevent it entirely, but as you're doing damage back to him, you're certainly diminishing the effect. He won't attack other party members unless you're selecting them yourself. Also you can just dodge attacks entirely instead of blocking, works just as well. You can still counter the skill with Rearise, btw. This a green materia that casts a spell on someone that will bring them back to life at half HP if they die.
