Basically this video summed up a lot of anime fans/gamers/and people with "childish" hobbies who need to "grow up" and help them stay grounded to reality. All work and no play makes you a dull person and too much work kills you slowly. This video is the struggle a lot of us deal with on a normal basis.

So much symbolism; Cloudie’s Childhood weaving all the attacks, a black man’s heart being symbolized by an empty parking lot, the Petsmart (a job spot with lots of responsibility in the lives of living organisms) being the background for his Nobody (his physical form and his grounded responsibilities) while the restaurants are in the background, representing freedom and joy… This is art.

I believe cs lewis (the author of the narnia series) famously said something along the lines of when I became a man I put away childish things including the fear of childishness
@derrickcrowe38883 жыл бұрын
@@spiritpyros Posting because it's a good quote. “Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.”

I love that C. S. Lewis is quoted on Cloudie’s thread. Spot on. Sames to this quote from Arthur Conan Doyle “I have wrought my simple plan If I give one hour of joy To the boy who’s half a man, Or the man who’s half a boy.”

I'm 30, pregnant and work. But in truth we adults need our childish side to mentally survive reality. I will always love both sides of me. A loving responsible mother and a video game loving, cosplaying girl. I thank square for getting me into video games. Because without my adventures in final fantasy, my depression would have taken over and I wouldn't be here to enjoy my own adventures through life. Cloudy, your adventures will continue. Sometimes it may feel like there's no point...but, in our journey we learn more about ourselves and how far our imagination can take us. You good sir, have many adventures ahead of you. All of us do. Your friend though no longer with you physically, will be with you through your adventures and keep pushing you to use your imagination to achieve your dreams.

I thought it was going to be funny, but instead I felt it hard and it made me think about my life and what I should be doing, yet I think it's okay to like video games and anime. I love these things, because I can use my imagination and video games help me cope with reality; It's what keeps me sane. It might seem childish to some, but I don't care, because I genuinely enjoy them and get to, in some way, live another life through a fictional character and not only that, but I've learned some pretty important life lessons thanks to video games. Keep being you and doing what you do, but only when you feel like doing so. Take all the breaks you need and take care of your mental health first and foremost. I find your videos funny and I feel like these could be legit cutscenes, no joke. Thanks for making these and just being really cool! :D (I know I'm months late, but I want to give my condolences and that ending was a nice touch and a beautiful way to remember Ashley.)

Keep going Cloudie the world sucks but never let it penetrate and destroy your defenses, remember you have a whole army of people who love and support you whether it be in person or online and I pray that God keeps you safe and you can continue to uplift us with your content brother. Being a responsible adult is necessary in external matters. Maintaining one’s inner child is what keeps us pure. To protect ourselves from the world that is treacherous we have to wear our armor that is “hard” like a rock and like a rock its hard, full of craters and imperfections and heavy with clear signs of overuse. But under that armor we must always remember there’s a human being with hopes, dreams, love, and a childhood. It’ll always lighten the load of the “armor” when we reap the benefits of who we’re really protecting.
