Ive been DYING to see this again! A great example of well crafted Aussie pop/rock. Nothing says pop doesnt have to have style.

You can't buy it . You can't download it. This has been the only way I've been able to hear this song again. Very underrated band. Big thanks for sharing this.

I forget how good this song is... Penny Century is one of the best Australian records of all time... 16 years ago, OMG, how old are we all now!

Wow this reminds me of Australian Summertimes... when I was 14 I sneaked off to a New Years Eve Concert in Dromana Victoria and this was the first song The Clouds played.. the air was warm and humid...

What a great band/song/clip!! Like everyone else - where have the years gone - but more importanly - where are Aussie bands like this these days??? :(

One of the greatest Aussie bands of the 90's, if not the best. Every show I saw them play was absolutely cooking. They certainly don't make them like this now, do they?

Nice memories. Saw them live in Perth but can’t remember the venue. I have always loved their combination of sweet harmonies with the wall of sound guitar playing. I still have my fold out copy of Penny Century.

I got a brand new CD player for my 12th birthday. The two albums I went and got were Penny Century and Trompe le Monde. I'm still undecided to this day as to which was best, but I do know they both were awesome. Thanks Kieran for the advice, and thanks Gemear for stirring those beautiful memories.

My first time seeing video of a band I've listened to for years. Thank you for this. Their chord changes are so complex and chromatic in comparison to most other indie bands of that period; I wonder what in their musical background caused them to put these complex harmonies into their music.

Because they were really good, it always holds you back in Australia

Saw them last night in Sydney at the Enmore Theatre. Up there with INXS and Divinyls as best Aussie band of all time. Why they weren't massive astounds me.

Yeah. I taped this song off RAGE back in the day and watched it a crazy amount of times . VHS. Thanks ABC. Darwin's sole connection to music clips came via RAGE.

Watched them play in early 90s Camden and had a few too many swallies which gave me dutch courage to question to the band where the north shields connection was as a north shields native myself. A lot of people i knew vanished to Australia back in the 80s and 90s thanks to thatcher and high unemployment.

I saw these guys/gals at Canterbury University sometime in the 90s. They were excellent. Best thing to come out of Austraalia. Why didn't they become bigger??

I played Murder in the Dark with the singer in a friends house in Sydney back in 1993. I didnt know she was from The Clouds at the time but she stood out as rather cute and funny and I really wanted to ask her out....but was too shy...... :-(

WHat was the name of the director? I think it was a lady who was renowned for doing great stuff. Some clips from the early 90s and you think ... I wonder how much better it would have been with today's technology. But I reckon this one, especially with the clarity of the superimposed pics, holds up pretty well.

Lent the guitarist (Dave) a copy of Pixies CD never got it back, Pixies comparisons are justified. These were the times.
