Nigel... I used the Cloudvocal Prime (and before that, the Choice) for about a year, but tried the NUX B-6 because of your review of the B-6. After trying the B-6, I sold my Cloudvocal mics, because I found them to have a "thinner" sound than the B-6. The B-6 gives me a fuller sound -- at a fraction of the price of the Cloudvocal Choice or Prime -- with a quicker/simpler setup, a better mounting clip, a smaller case, and a more convenient charging system. For me, the only advantage the Cloudvocal mic system has over the B-6 is all the EFX on the receiver, but I don't need them because my PA system has all the EFX I need. (I also have the AMT Q7-LS Mini, which has better sound than both Cloudvocal and NUX B-6, but it's bulkier/heavier -- very noticeable on soprano -- and costs 4x as much as the NUX B-6).

That's exactly my point. Nux B1 is much cheaper, better sound, and even if you add a VE would still be cheaper and more efects provided/harmonics. The cloudvocal is good only if you look at a limited all in one solution.

@@Androcentus NUX B1? That's made for guitar. Do you mean B-6?
@ph27382 жыл бұрын
Hey, maybe that’s exactly what I am thinking. I have a Zoom effects pedal so don’t need the effects of the receiver. And I want to stop running a separate power chord out on stage just for my mic receiver. So maybe NUX.
@fredcavesemusic2 жыл бұрын
@@ph2738 FWIW... The power cord for the Cloudvocal's receiver doesn't need to be an issue. When I had my Cloudvocal, I never plugged the receiver into a wall outlet. Instead, I connected a small, $10 rechargeable 5 volt power supply that would run the receiver for 4-5 hours, thereby enabling me to set up anywhere. Buy 2, and always have a fully charged backup on hand, in case you have a doubleheader or forget to charge your primary.

I bought the CloudVocal Prime after your review and never regretted it. Fantastic piece of equipment. With the effects I sometimes feel like a real pro !! 🙂

I love my Sennheiser wireless mic but I love the idea of the cloud vocal as there are no wires and it clips on so easily!

I was having some trouble with my old AKG wireless at a gig this week so I am looking at other options. It was a big space with a lot of dancers, the other band pieces were loud and we were having trouble with our sound system. THe bass player grabbed another amp just for me, but if I turned up the mic gain, it just seemed to amplify the pad noise. Since I like my Zoom effects pedal, I wouldn’t need the CloudVocal effects on their receiver. I would need to run an extra power chord out to where I’m standing so I could access the receiver switches and make a short cable run to my effects box, same as my AKG. Seems like a NUX B-6 would work better for me since I wouldn’t need a power cable out to where I’m standing.

Interesting that this video came up. I have been looking for a mic and trying to educate myself on what might work best. Think I will give this a try.

The Lite sounds good for its price. My Mike is a Rode NT1 Which audio Interface do you use?
@McGillMusicSaxSchool2 жыл бұрын
Hi Olaf. I've used the NT1 for years. Good mic. But not a wireless system which is more suitable for performing. (I'm using the Universal Audio Apollo Twin interface in my studio at home)

Hi Where can you buy the cloud vocal lite from, as I can't seem to find it when I Google. I am in the UK.
@StephenB_LE92 жыл бұрын
Ni Nigel, you ask what microphone we use - I use an Aston Microphone Original for recording myself - coupled to a Steinberg UR22C usb interface. I find the Aston Microphone Original to be a great mic - fairly level response, with good frequency response and dynamic range.

I use a basic sm-57 for home recording. All other things aside I wonder if the cloudvocal lite is equal or better than the sm-57 in terms of recording quality?
@McGillMusicSaxSchool2 жыл бұрын
Great question. The SM57 is a standard / benchmark mic that works great. But... you need more gear than just that mic to make it work. With the Cloudvocal LITE you have everything you need with the mic and receiver.

Hi there. I am quite new to this stuff. I have used a ZOOM Q2HD Handy Video Recorder to record my playing. It gives good sound quality and OK video quality. What is the benefit of this mic compared to a video recorder if you just want to record your own playing? And do I need anything else than this mic? Or just plug it into my computer? Any program for editing/mixing??

Hey Eric. It would be ok for a small band or doing smaller gigs for sure.

Much better to go with a Nux B1 and a Voice enhancer like VE-20 (more effects) and it's cheaper...
