try setting the trekking poles lower on the up hills, makes it much easier.... long downhill, short uphill great vid as always cheers

Interesting. Can i ask why?
@richardthomas33823 жыл бұрын
@@ntr10me for me the ideal length of the poles when standing up straight keeps the arms bent 90deg, if too long when going up hill they can become a little clumsy and also more effort lifting the arms higher each step then necessary. works for me..... cheers
@TravelswithRosie3 жыл бұрын
@@richardthomas3382 Yep. Aim for 90deg cant agree more
@Rambling_Bob3 жыл бұрын
@@thomasjeffersonlane9902 yep, I do likewise. On flat ground my pole tips rarely come in front of my heels (Nordic Walking style). On the uphill I choke up on the handle and on steep downhills I hold the top of each pole to reach down and maximise stability for my knackered old knees. (Happily this length works well as poles for my tent.) 👍

Yep looked canny. Nice area that. Rugged. (Like me) not easy hiking off piste either. I’ve done a few of those lately. Tires you out like. Tent looked solid The soulo would definitely benefit from the tags on the bigger panels. We were discussing that last camp. The staika has them. Makes a difference like. Anyway. Steak 🥩 looked nice. I want one now. Good to see you out with Andy. Hopefully see ya soon 👍

When I go camping with my mates, we always pack food and cook for everyone at the same time. For four people we usually need a campfire and one stove (any kind). Or two stoves if we can't build a fire. Is there a reason you bring you own food and eat separately? It seems to me you can pack more efficiently when you can share the gear and food, and less lonely :) Thanks for the vid!

My favourite 4 Hiking/camping vloggers are Paul, Summit, Haze and TA. I had this cool idea about a Hiking Camping TV show kinda presented like Top Gear. These 4 would make great hosts, and cover different styles. Sadly there isn't any shows about this on TV that I know of. Seems liked a missed opportunity. Thank KZbin for filling that void.

Hello Paul here in America if it's a one day hike like what you're doing an overnight. Will take Meat like what you've got there & Cook it up. Bear Country or not. If your hiking in Bears country. You got to carry a Bear Proof Canister plus Bear Spray. You can be used it on Mountain Lions too. If it's a three-day hike and nights. Amazon sells Dehydrated Meat Potatoes and Vegetables. They pack up nice and light, all you have to do is hydrates, with water and add them to your soup.
