Shakespeare, Winston Churchill, Gandhi, JFK, King Arthur.. All wrapped up in a football manager.

Great comment. What he achieved with two relatively small clubs, was extraordinary.

Great interview, captures Clough in his prime, without the excess bluster of his early years or the excess drink of his latter years.

I interviewed the great man for Abu Dhabi Radio. I finally got round to making it widely available. I describe the experience in my book - 'Let me know when you're famous, Chris!' - which is available on Amazon. Those were his parting words to me, by the way.

Best of all, but Peter Taylor always needs mentioning. Both exceptional men, fortunately for football, that's where they performed.

He didn’t know me from Adam. I just had a little spot on the local radio. Such a generous man.

You can tell Mr Clough liked this interview and interviewer. How privileged is that?

It was a privilege. I was a small time radio journalist with Abu Dhabi Radio. Cloughie brought the whole Forest team out to rest up before a European Cup Final. After the interview, which was entirely unrehearsed, he introduced me to the team and ‘befriended’ me for the next two days. His last words to me which I will never forget were: ‘Let me know when you’re famous, Chris!’ - which became the title of my autobiography sold on Amazon. I did not become famous. I had a moment in the sun. All the best. Chris
