as someone who works at a subway now idk how its "easier" for food serivce, its been the most hell one ive been in so far. It might just be the one i work at but we dont have time to even pee or anything at mine. We are expected to work nonstop which is so different from anywhere else in food service ive been at. Every place is different and sadly i guess i got stuck with the worst of the worst, the only benefit is we are paid way more than most places for the shit we have to deal with everyday from customers.

We are very privileged to have resources like food in this country. While it might be tough to find an apartment and pay bills, I have never experienced hunger and I hope no one goes through it. The way I was treated as a Subway employee was borderline abusive and all I can think watching this is how much work he just made for his coworkers and how much trouble that manager could get in for wasted food. I would've actually cried if this happened at my Subway (bc that job had me constantly near tears....) Anyway can confirm: unhappy Subway customers do sometimes say "I should've gone to Jimmy John's" as they walk out. Two things: 1. I'd say it's unbelievable, but I've known people who did crazy shit like that if they hated their job...instead of just quitting or finding another job. One friend worked at a buffet-style restaurant as a dishwasher. He would deliberately sail small dishes and silverware down a sort of chute, into a large disposal which destroyed them. I worked there later, and discovered why he hated working there--the management didn't know what they were doing, made the employees hate them and a year or so after I left, they closed.
