I was right up front, got splashed & smashed- splashed with beer some asshole threw and smashed by some brief moshing but that’s a small price to pay to witness Clown Core live. Hard to know if the several interruptions were technical glitches or part of the show. Honestly my biggest complaint is that they only decided to play in Cali and NYC, i get this is most likely just them doing them but man a real Clown Core tour would be dope, there are a lot of bands and festivals they would feel at home opening at. Went to the show lastnight 2/17 What an awesome show. They wore different clown masks (not these black ones nor the ones in any video online) pretty cool to see them change it up.

I was front row for the 2/18 show and the drummer who shall not be named wore his mask from the Toilet and Van albums. It looked a little worse for wear but that made it more menacing in a good way. Sax man wore a mask I'd never seen before but it looked like it was in good condition, perhaps even new. Smooth, sort of Jigsaw looking. Great time though I did get moshed in a bad way! Fun fact: The venue was literally three blocks from the Weinerschnitzel featured in the Computers video. So cool.

I feel like the visual accompaniment is meant to tell some sort of origin story, specifically that they're aliens. The opening is them landing on Earth, then towards the end, they fly back out into space, ending with them warping back to their home planet. The guttural screaming is their native language, and the subtitles are the translation. The indescribable style of music they play is just "normal" music where they come from. It might just be that I was high when I saw them at Elsewhere last night. XD
