Glad it was helpful! Yeah I'm in love with my clowns. As long as you can get a tank large enough to raise them and know you'll be able to get a large enough tank down the line then definitely do it!

Your clownloaches look awesome. I myself a huge fan of them and currently keep a group of 5 semi juveniles in a 75 gallon tank. Your video is informative for someone keeping them for first time. You have them In a tank with sand substrate. The clowns seldom kick the substrate around and this can get into all your filter media. Is gravel cleaning a tiering task for you. Please comment on this
@TheAquaticCoder
@TheAquaticCoder 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I love them. Sadly I lost some of the group recently but I still have my largest. Sand definitely gets kicked up but I have not had an issue with my filter clogging. I used a canister on this tank. I usually clean the media once every 3 months. Potentially a sponge over the intake could help if you were worried about sand in your filter. I use sand for the look and not due to the maintenance of gravel.

Great Video i also have 4 clown loaches with Discus fish and they are fun to watch
@TheAquaticCoder
@TheAquaticCoder 3 жыл бұрын
Yes they are I agree! I know others have said that Discus can get scared once the loaches get large since they are so active. I wouldn't worry till they are 5+ inches though and then keep an eye on if the Discus look stressed.

@@TheAquaticCoder i get mine both locally and Amazon. I was getting them for altums and discus . The clowns were coming up to the surface within a day trying to get the worms out of their mouth 😃. If you get some keep in fridge and rinse daily. Your fish will love them 👍🤩

Yeah they go through snails fast. I'm tempted to move a couple to my 20g for a week or two in order to clean that tank of snails but I'd hate to separate them from the group.

I see them in the evening most of the time for half a hour or so (feeding time)and they are gone for the rest of the day (put 25 into a small fish pond) see them in groups of 10 or so ,most I can count is around 20 at one time. They break of into smaller groups and swimming around and I can't tell if I am seeing the same fishes

I have one that was a baby and he’s now 5 years old but still really small I don’t get it like 4 inches.. I try to get him tank mates they look healthy then I wake up and they are dead.. in a community tank..

Question my tank is 160 liter tank never figer my maths not good in gallons please can u tale me I had 2cloun louche once illness they sadly died miss them someone told me don't get more they grow very large is the issuees I know grow slow once they get big is the issue I has 1 big fish brisslnoise already grow large .
@TheAquaticCoder
@TheAquaticCoder 2 жыл бұрын
A 160 liter tank is equal to about 42 gallons. That would be to small for Clown Loaches in my opinion. I would go with a 55 gallon for small ones but then upgrade to large once they get to 6 inches. They prefer to be in groups which is why yours might have not done well. I'd suggest getting 4 as the minimum but 6+ is even better. If you are able to get a larger tank in the future I highly recommend them. But for now I think waiting on Clown Loaches is best.

I got 45 gallon tank...3 angels, 4 congo tetras, 1 common pleco, 2 clown louches,....i got aquaclear 110 filter and sponge filter....r they ok in tank....how long should i wait until i buy a bigger tank?
@TheAquaticCoder
@TheAquaticCoder 3 жыл бұрын
The filtration you have on the tank sounds good. I would mainly keep an eye on the nitrates and when they start becoming too high for you to keep up with water changes it is definitely time to upgrade. Otherwise it'll depend on the fish. Keep an eye on the Angels as they might get more aggressive as they get older. Clown loaches should be fine until 3-4 inches. The common pleco might cause you problems first. I never kept one so I do not know how fast they grow but I know they can get big. Once he gets over 6 inches I'd start thinking about the plans for an upgrade.

Hi.. ur vedio was nice .. I hv 3 inch datonoid 1 3 inch peacock bass 1 2 inch geophagus red head 5 2 inch frantosa 5 4 inch clown loach 2 Can i keep alk these togather.any problem by keeping them all in one tank.. Bcz my tank was a 340 litre tank .pls suggest me
@TheAquaticCoder
@TheAquaticCoder 3 жыл бұрын
The one I would be worried about is the peacock bass once they get large. I don't know too much about them but know they get very big and are usually for predator or monster fish only aquariums. I'd do some more research on that fish but the others shouldn't be an issue.

How many I can keep for 32 feet tank? 75liters
@TheAquaticCoder
@TheAquaticCoder 3 жыл бұрын
I would not recommend clown loaches for that size of a tank. About 200 liters should be the minimum for juveniles. Once they reach 6+ inches then about 350+ liters is ideal for adulthood. They like to be in groups and get very large.

@TheAquaticCoder
@TheAquaticCoder 3 жыл бұрын
I'd recommend getting at least 4 clown loaches as they do best with company. I actually bought my first batch when I had a 45g but had plans to upgrade 6 months later. I think it is fine but once they get to 3 inches you'll want to get the 75g (you can usually find them pretty small in stores).
