What annoyed me with the firing of Jay was they said it was for creative reasons which baffles me. You take The End So Far(to clarify, I liked the album) it was a very polarizing album, least from what I saw, half the fan base enjoyed it and the other half didn't. However one of the few things that wasn't heavily criticized was Jay and V-man's work. So for me it just seems backwards.

I'm all for bands trying something new, but the one thing I know is that Slipknot fans tend to accept ANYTHING they put out and praise it as being the best thing on Earth, no matter how good or bad it actually is. So, if this LOYW album is garbage, people will still praise it and they'll start doing more like it. Although... I REALLY hope that it's different in the sense of being heavier and even more extreme than ever before. But, judging from TESF, Bone Church, and the absolutely trash Adderall EP... I don't have my hopes up at all.

Craig and Jay were fired so the other band members could make more money. Chris was fired for calling out Shawn and Corey for having secret business deals behind the backs of the other members. That should show you what this band cares about.
@MrJackcorgi Жыл бұрын
I'm guessing that Jay wanted to play metal and the rest of the band wants to play too 40 music. Or Jay wanted more money with a new contract and the band was like we can find something cheaper and make ourselves more money

@sugarsore it was never determined what about happened with Craig so hard to say he was fired. Most fans are speculating he left on his own terms

If they play tiny clubs they should do 2 nights each city. Insane clown posse did that before and it was awesome. Both shows sold out so fast

Think about it. Slipknot in a small venue: Tickets $500 Public: 150 150 X $500 = $75000 Cost to get such small venue is very low, simple structure, etc. A lot of profit in there. You can add a few thousands in merchandise and meet and greet.

75k between 9 guys? Nice
@tiagoshade Жыл бұрын
@@miller3441 how much money do you think these guys actually earn per show?? You guys have no idea about this business. If you do a few small venue shows as slipknot you can charge 1k for the tickets and there will be for sure 300 people in each big city who will pay for it, imagine 500. They will spent a fraction of money with the venue and the structure. They will probably profit more and work less. They don’t share the money between 9. For sure the guys who are hired get their pay peer show or peer tour and the others who are owners will take their share of the final profit.

If you have to say you have one of the “greatest metal albums” or greatest anything, then you have some ego issues. Let the fans and your peers say those things.

they already did small shows with og masks back in 2011 after Paul has died. The Sonisphere tour. They called this tour a celebration. In Berlin Columbiahalle. I don't know how many people fit in there. Corey switched after 1 song (sic) to his AHIG mask. He later explained for comfortable reasons. He used a transformed version of the og ghost glow mask, which was not that good. We've seen in a bonus DVD for I think AHIG or Antennas to hell that Coreys OG s/t mask is rotting away.... even Jim switched mask during that show from Vol.3 Jim to s/t Jim. But not all of 'em switched masks. I've been there! They've already done that. When they talk about secret shows I believe it could be something like All Out Life video shoot. Fans came, not knowing what for....

I dont think thats quite what he meant. If you (or any person) experience something traumatic there is always a phase of grief, reevaluating and then healing involved. you work through the pain and come out a better person (thats the point of it though) ofcoruse some traumas are almost impossible to heal from, sure. Lets say in the case of Paul specifically, he died of an OD and none of the guys ever tried to stop him when he lived. so when he died they obv never forgave themselves for it. so working through it, they possibly not only adressed their own addictions, but became better communicating within their group to point out toxic behavior. see what i mean?

My very first show was in 1999 at the Boiler Room in Houston, TX. In fact, Mudvayne opened for them before their first album was released. Last year I had the chance to Meet Shawn in Austin and we reminisced about the small shows. He told me how much he missed that shit, and they were looking to do something like that again. I'm glad to see its happening!

@timgonzales2891 Жыл бұрын
It's not that he's philosophical. He's just obfuscating. It's purely a manipulation tactic, and the goal is to make it to where he sounds like he answered and he just never does

I have a theory that they are gonna pass on the Slipknot torch to their kids. Like have Shawns kid come in first to replace Jay, an then Coreys kid to replace him and so on... So that Slipknot lives on forever.
