Correct. The earlier pushrod engines just used a traditional timing set.

Hello. I bought a timing chain set for my 1999 1500 suburban 4x4 5.7L vortec. And twice now the chain was sloppy lose. I'm returning it again. And if thus one fails I'll get refund and go with Jegs or Sumit. This is waste of my time.
