77,178 Greek Jews lived in Greece before the second World War. 67,092 of them were murdered by the Nazi monsters. The Jewish people suffered tremendously . All those who turn victims of vicious hatred and racism into perpetrators -are simply antisemites. They relate all calamities in the world, to the Jews... Evil never ceases to exist... However, the Greek people are kind and enlightened. My father fought , side by side, with the brave Greek partisans , against the Nazis, and my mother, and her whole little community ,were saved by Mayor Lukas Karrer and Archbishop Chrisostomos Dimitri - on the island of Zakynthos with its noble Zakythinian people . Their kindness and courage shall never be forgotten!

The vast majority of Greek people love Jews. We regard them as our brothers and sisters and have lived thousands of years together in total peace. Please disregard the few vociferous fascists that post bullshit, they are not even 1 % . Israel for ever and may we always be allies ! Love and kisses. :)

The big irony is that a Jew had managed to convince the NAZIs that the Sepharadic Jews of Thessaloniki were not genetically Jews and almost got an exception which would have saved their lives, until another Jew, one of the most prominent members of the Jewish community in Thessaloniki, was outraged at that idea and railed against it, with devastating consequences. Furthermore, the Romaniote Jews also existed in Thessaloniki, and of course live there for 23 centuries, not 23 years as somebody erroneously said in the video. The use of tombstones as building material for other purposes might be a sacrilege, but even the ancient Athenians recycled their old tombstones to build walls in order to defend their city in times of need. Those who destroyed the tombstones are the guilty ones.

Shame that Spain or Turkey had not granted them all blanket citizenship. They could have been saved. Our neighbor in Cairo was from Ianinna. Many Jews from Salonika were in Egypt. They also spoke french as they went to French speaking schools.

Well hada, I am Jewish and I have participates in all kinds of memorial days, and even Anzac day when I was in Oz.Where were the Jews you ask?.Both my father and my father-in-law fought during world war 2 to cover your ass as well (I assume you are an ozzi)-my father in Albania with the Greek soldiers and my father in law as a pilot with the Americans army. I am sick and tired of people who don't know me and my family and probably any Jewish person who tell me I am all about making money. I am a retired public schoolteacher-I guess that makes me superrich in your eyes-don't tell me about "helping"people and having a balanced view of history--seems like you need to be balanced yourself. Read history, make some Jewish friends, take some classes so you know from whence you speak. I have many Catholic friends, and have gone many times to mass at a Catholic church. How many times have you gone to a shabbat or to a Jewish service?

As a Greek I must say that hundreds Jewish soldiers fought inside the ranks of the Greek army in Albania in 1940-41.One great hero of ours is Mordechai Frizis who was the most senior officer of the Greek army who died in battle.
