My family is Irish American and our tradition is to take the tree down January 6, the Feast of the Three Kings. It’s considered bad luck to take it down before then. It follows the tradition of the 12 Days of Christmas.

👋 kids! I'll watch again but 2 things. First, the little santa mugs, we had a set as a kid that had a big Santa to hold the punch or hot chocolate. I hadn't thought of those in years. Glad to hear I am not the only person who keeps the Christmas tree up into January! When I was 22, I kept the tree up until Valentines Day. I joked I had a dead tree in the living room. I lived in Ca. It was my first tree in my own place. I am a couple of years older than you now.

Pretty cards. The popup card with music is very nice. Addison was so cute in the play loving on baby Jesus. That is the cutest Santa. I got all my decorations down on Jan. 5th. Hi Miss Marie and Calvin!! What lovely cards,(mine was there!!) and gifts! ..I hope the girls will like their presents!. My oldest Son, the one in Michigan working on his PhD got to come home for a week!! As we speak he is getting ready to board his plane home! I was so happy to spend a week with him!! Miss Marie, we take down the tree about the 2nd week of January or when the 2 cats start taking down the ornaments for us!! New Years resolutions... I don't think i have any, I'm just thankful for my 3 kids, husband and my parents that are healthy!. I will keep folks in my prayers in the purple notebook. My CT came back relatively well. I need an Ultrasound in January to take a closer look at something that i hope will turn out to be nothing. Love love love your videos! I loved Addison trying to give baby Jesus to the little boy playing Joseph! That was so cute! I love Christmas and all the decorations. The Lord has been so good to me for my almost 67 years on this earth I usually take my decor down the first or 2nd week of January. This year my husband and I are both sick with flu or a virus so I suppose we will get to it when we can! Happy New Year🎉

❤Good morning, Calvin & Marie, So good to see you both this morning. Loved seeing all your cards. Glad you received my handmade one. I painted several but only got one mailed and that was yours. I painted one for each of my family with a gift card. That was all the Christmas I could do., but we enjoyed each other and being all together was all that mattered to me. Addison was the best Mary I’ve ever seen. She was the only one I’ve ever seen who picked that precious baby up and love on him like Mothers would do. She’s an angel of a child and Avery is right behind her. Y’all are so blessed. I’m thankful Gerald is doing well and also that you go visit him as often as you can. Praying 2025 is a better year. This year has been so hard. I lost so many good friends this year. I guess as we age that is to be expected. I’m just thankful I am assured my Jesus walks with me and talks with me and that means I’m never alone even though it feels like it sometimes. You two are one of the sweetest couples I’ve ever known and I thank God for you. 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️

Who said grown men can’t cry obviously didn’t know what they were talking about. I’ve seen my Dad cry and it taught me the depth of his love. I’ve always sometimes picture even Jesus weeping which I’m sure he has for each of us that’s what a loving God does it shows just how much he loves us. Many wear their hearts on their sleeves but to watch your Dad weep it is just so touching and makes me a better person for it. God bless you both. Glad your brother is doing well. It's wonderful how you visit your brother. Regarding your pots, crock pots, etc: I have large pots stored in my utility room that I only use occasionally, like in the summer for blanching vegetables. I also have a pressure cooker/canner. I may not use them often, but keeping them until I need them has saved us a lot of money over the years.

I have one crock pot, but really wish I had 2 or 3. Pantry looks great!! A mystery video!! My Walmart in 2 weeks is going to go thru a remodel. I was told it would be better to do a pickup instead of going into an upside down store. I do know they are enlarging the store and having walk in freezers. Yep, walk in freezers. Never have done a pickup before, I hope it is easy. Yall had a wonderful Christmas for sure. I'm behind on everything ❤❤❤

Thanks very much. We don't have walk in coolers at our Walmart. Grocery pickup is easy and after you do it a few times you will rather do pickup than to go inside.

Awesome video Marie and Calvin! You've both been very busy with Christmas, the family get together and program at Kim's church. All of these events along with visiting with Gerald are enough to make a body tired. I enjoyed the devotional and I keep the names of people listed in the purple book in my daily prayers, along with so many more who are standing in the need of prayers. Well, my new years resolution is to stay healthy! I'm 67, & discovered I'm sensitive, or intolerant to gluten...I'm feeling better after only 2 days off of it...its not easy though. We'll be taking our decorations down next weekend probably. We've enjoyed them so much.

As always, thanks for making time for the Sunday chat. I enjoyed looking at all of the beautiful cards you received. I'm sitting here in chilly NH looking at my tree. I'll probably start taking down the decor on 1/1 and be finished on the weekend. I get very busy with work after the first and want everything back in its place before my job takes over my time for 3 months ;) That's why this year I decided to put everything up around mid-November. I can still have 6-7 weeks of decked out rooms without having to deal with the extra work both at home and my job. Take care! - Laura T
