In terms of the trading hall, the villagers should be able to throw items to you. It's why I have stairs instead of whole blocks between the stations.

In terms of the raid, perhaps the Strat is to cull the witch first. I mean, with the end dragon fight, the the first step is to remove the healing beacons. Just sayin'
