I like to use Loop In and Out so people get familiarized with the incomming track and to make more progressive and longer mixs. Sometimes doing some sort of Callback like comedians do in stand up comedy and make some sort of dejavu moment on the dance floor.

Dude I absolutely love your interest in a huge variety of genres. And it's not a "I have to listen to everything to be good at my job. " It's a legitimate enjoyment and passion for every genre you play. Pretty rare I hear dj's so willing to just drop some drum and bass that aren't heavily imbedded in the scene. Thanks for dropping that knowledge as usual. Always find myself excited when I see you've uploaded a new video, even if I already have a pretty good understanding of the subject. Keep being you.

I like doing this with house tracks that have a vocal that starts too soon for my liking - it lets me make a longer, more subtle transition without rushing to get the old song out before the vocal hits. You can also combine incoming and outgoing loops. Loop the incoming one until there’s a break in the vocal of the outgoing track. Then loop that one and release the loop on incoming so it continues

This is a great technique especially for House/Techno/Trance DJs. But the key is that whole release part ;). You can't get distracted which is easy to do during a mix, where your busy with get the levels and EQs right. What I mostly like is when the incoming track surprises the listener when a phrase takes over the outgoing track. This also allows you to drop in tracks with melodies or vocals only without beats. Other techniques you drop in buildup first or the outro of the incoming song and then mix in the beginning.

I did more research on the Club Mixer vs the 1000SRT. Seems Pioneer didn’t use an actual EQ Isolator on the SRT like the DJM series. It’s a bit of a draw back but it works ok. I’d rather have the full EQ Isolation. Hopefully the DDJ XDJ XZ is ironed out when it’s time to upgrade.
@adammander71084 жыл бұрын
Hi I have the XDJ XZ and it does have full eq isolation you have to do it in reckordbox software
@tobydulanski94804 жыл бұрын
@@adammander7108 I have no idea. If anything look on the Pioneer DJ website or in your PDF manual. The EQ Isolation function is a hardware setting ( mechanical switch ) on the Pioneer DJ DJM Club Gear series mixers like what Andrew uses.

Hey mate just in case you come across this comment, I'm having trouble mixing songs that are drastically different in bpm. I know they'll work well together but I was wondering if you had any tips for that sort of shift. Hope you can let me know man much love.
@Emildnb4 жыл бұрын
Claude Gray what's the bpm difference?
@KnightmareOX4 жыл бұрын
If both songs have a break to mix into that can sometimes work. Or find a premade bpm transition track. Record pools usually have them
@ClubReadyDJSchool4 жыл бұрын
100% this video is on my to do but there are already a few in queue.
@matthewjswider4 жыл бұрын
You can loop the incoming track and use sync to mix the two and then speed up or slow to the second tracks original bpm. Try not to drag this out too long or with a mix that’s too busy or it will sound trashy and muddy. You can use your eq’s to mitigate this but only to an extent, and you only have one hand to work with since you’re adjusting bpm simultaneously. Good luck.
